love phuket... but know the place too well so i decided to skip it to have experience of other thai roads...

road 4 from sadao to hatyai:

nothing special, like those normal thai roads with bumps and pot holes once in a while.

 

road 43, 4, 41 from hatyai to surat thani:

nothing special, like those normal thai roads with bumps and pot holes once in a while.

 

things to note there are 2 exit to surat thani u can take either one.

 

road 41, 4, 321, 324, 329, 3196 from surat to lop buri:

same thing on 41, 4.

 

321 the road starts to get real bumpy and hard to ride fast... partly because in are in some sort of 'city' area. the roads are really messy. Especially when u need to get into 329 from 321.

 

Just make a right turn at the round about once you reach supanburi. there will be a KFC after that.

 

first leg of 329 is 'ok' bumpy like 321 not as messy. the middle leg turns into a offroad for about 10-25km as the road is made up of gravel and sand as the road is under construction... avoid at all cost unless ur bike can do offroad. there is a intersection at 329 and 32 which i have to make a u-turn to continue on 329(means go into 32 and make a u-turn)

 

3196 is the best road so far, smooth and full of bends and turns great for those speed demon. But becareful of all overtaking cars from the opposite direction. 2 lane 2 way road.

 

road 1, 2, 24, 214, 2071, 2077 lopburi to sangkha

road 1 and 2 is as per normal.

 

road 24 is nice and smooth with lotsa bends but not as good like the 3196. 2nd leg of the 24 turns into a 2 lane 2 way road... exciting...

 

214 to surin is smooth and bendy... great fun

 

2071 and 2077 is the worst of the whole trip, are so much pot holes and big holes on the road. a part of the road has a gigantic holw that couls fit a car... think i broke my wheel bearing on this 2 road.

 

road 1, 9, 35 from lopburi to road 4 towards surat thani:

 

road 1 before Pathum thani is as per normal. Bit it turns into a huge gigantic traffic jam @ pathum thani. i got lost and nearly went into central bangkok... PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM CENTRAL BANGKOK WHEN U ARE RIDING... to get into road 9 towards samut sakhon, u have to make a U-turn and road 1 somewhere after the 1 road sign thats road road 9 to the east side of bangkok.

 

road 35 has the best scenary of all the roads i went to.... but i was running out of time as i need to reach surat before night fall hence no pics.

BUT some advice TO RIDE SAFE IN THAILAND:

 

1. TRY NOT TO RIDE AT NIGHT, ITS TOO EXCITING FOR MOST.(wear a full face bring some wet tissue as the amount of insects u kill with your visor will blur your vision)

2. WHEN U SEE 2 OR MORE VEHICLES IN-LINE PREPARE TO SEE A OVER TAKING COMING UP. THEY WILL GO INTO YOUR LANE IF THEY ARE COMING IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION( 2 LANE 2 WAY ROAD)

3. U DO NOT HAVE THE RIGHT OF WAY(NO MATER WHAT)

4. BECAREFUL OF FUNNY THINGS ON THE ROAD(DEAD MONKEYS, HUGE LIZARD CROSSING THE ROAD)

5. BECAREFUL OF U-TURN VEHICLE ON RAODS. VEHICLE COMING IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTIONS(IN YOUR LANE)

6. TRY NOT TO GO INTO CENTRAL BANGKOK

7. U-TURN IN THE EXPRESSWAY WHEN U ARE LOST.. (WORKS FOR ME AS THE EXIT ARE USUALLY IN THE OTHER SIDE) FUNNY SYSTEM THERE.

 

THATS ALL I CAN THINK OF FOR NOW. CHEERS
