Hi, anyone going to do a personal bike grooming this coming holiday? Cos I want to know how it is done. Eg how to clean the chain, wash the wheel, polishing etc etc. Cos I dun know wat can or cannot be wash on the bike. Cos I really want to shampoo my bike till it shinny new... And if you going to do, can also tell me what is needed to buy before I go over, so I also can wash at the same time...

lolz.. u 1 day late. thought u nr reply me. so i wash + full polish and wax on thurs morning liao.. Now blink blink again. Bike all ready for CNy visitations liao.

 

we normally wash around bishan. st 13 or st 12 de..

if i jam brake hard (just top to full tank), then got some petrol leak from the right side is it okay? coz i bend down at look, like got a whole for petrol to leak de???

are you riding a ta150 or ta200?

 

for a ta150 it's not normal!!! as the tank should only have 2 holes..one for fuel to enter(where you pump petrol) and one for it to leave(petcock)

 

for a ta200 it's normal as there's 3 holed as compared to 2 the 3rd whole which is on the RIGHT side of the tank is supposed to be connected to somewhere... hmm..can't remember but no worries just don't pump too full and nothing will come out of the hole..

 

perhaps silent hunter can furthur explain haha..remembered you explain to me before but i can't remember..

its a breather... no matter what bike you are riding, the tank definitely have an opening or a "3rd" hole... it is to let the air enter the tank... if air cannot enter the tank, the petrol cannot flow into the carburetor or FI...

 

imagine a can of evaporated milk... thats why you need two openings...

for ta150 the breather hole its at the tank cap itself.. thats why u dun see any third hole

Hi guys, recently (like 2 weeks ago) i have changed my fork seal cause the previous was leaking terribly. but this few days, i've noticed a little oil on my seal again. its those very clear oil. i tot my seal was damaged again but when i clean it and try pumping my fork up and down there was no leakage. seems to me only after riding oil will seems to appear. is there anyway i can pin point the problem?

You riding TA200? want to find the hole very easy de. pump full tank then jam brake hard hard. when the petrol leak out, you will find the hole liao. haha... its at the right side.... but dunnoe how to explain where it is leh. lol

see from the right side of the bike.. den u will see a tube/hose coming out from ur tank

hard to say... u try ride a few more days see how lo..

after every trip, have a look on the fork, check.

if have oil, clean it off, den check again the next trip u ride.

 

normally if u jus change the fork seal but it still leak, means ur fork is damages, if not is the shop mec nvr do properly

ELLO I WANNA SELL YM BIKE BUT NOT SURE WHERE TO do it at..recommendations of a gd shop?my bike's the ta150 coe expring on jan 2011 and its conditions not too good.any ideas if any shop would take it.externally its tip top but internally thr're a couple of problems.

Hi all, I have a few questions to verify.

 

1) Is mixing EO bad for the engine? Let say currently my engine is fill with 10w50 rating EO. I pour in another rating of EO. Will it spoil the engine?

 

2) What is the symptom of not enough EO in the bike?

1. Never tried long term before, but heard that if really no choice need to top up and cannot find same type, can top up a bit of EO with higher rating.

 

Only experienced once, pouring in a funny rating Malaysia EO while touring. Later that weekend changed oil. No ill effects if used for a quick fix.

Just remember this: Better to have mixed EO than no engine oil at all. :sian:

 

2. First symptom the dipstick very clean and dry when you take it out to check oil level ! :lol:

 

2. Not enough engine oil, the engine sound different from normal, rougher. You ride long eough, the sound different can hear one.

 

2. The engine very hot easily.

 

Any expert knows more can contribute.

Ya true.. Better to have mixed EO than no engine oil at all. Just now i take out my dip stick and wipe it and put it in again there was not even single drop of EO.. lol... need to tong till thursday for planet to open.. PRAY.....
