i came across this abt tuning & derestricting frm, http://www.yamaha-rd.com/forum/topic-1851.html

if it means anything to any of u here... :D

they are restricted by having the powervalve pegged closed. open it by removing 2 bolts on the cover and the insert and turn about 30 degrees, instant 20bhp

tuning....

fit a powervalve kit, these are very rare now, you can buy the parts individually from yamaha but you looking at £300+

get it tuned. mick abbey does a good tune

http://www.two-stroke-addicts.freeserve.co.uk/mick/home.htm

advance the ignition by 3 degrees for better top end..

or get a 180 kit

http://www.yamaha-rd.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1852

looks like you need the DT125R head tho..

get a decent exhaust....nikon or swarbrick or stan stevens...or try mick abbey for one off pipes....dont buy a micron, they crap!

TZR125 POWER VALVE FITTING INSTRUCTIONS

Where possible we would recommend that you entrust the fitting of this kit to an authorised Yamaha dealer, however if you decide to fit the kit yourself proceed as follows.

1)Remove the fuel tank, seat and side panels.

2)Disconnect the battery.

3)Fit the YPVS control unit to the bracket above right hand passenger footrest using bolt supplied and connect block connector to connector on loom.

4)Fit servo mounting bracket to fuel tank front mount using two pan head screws supplied. Fit servo motor to bracket using two thrashers and two pan head screws supplied. Plug in block connectors to connectors on loom.

5)Remove right hand power valve cover and remove Allen screw from centre of power valve. Remove left hand power valve cap and bush and discard. Remove the power valve (each half comes out from it's own side of the cylinder.) clean any carbon deposits off the power valve and replace it in the machine. Refit the Allen screw ensuring it is correctly torqued. Refit right hand cover using new '0' ring supplied.

6)Fit '0' ring and oil seal to new power valve holder and, after greasing holder, install into power valve housing.

7)Fit cover to cylinder using two Allen screws supplied and fix pulley to

Power valve using bolt supplied make sure the powervalve is the right way up!

8)Fit power valve cables to servo monitor and power valve pulley and leave adjusters slack.

9)Re-connect battery leads and turn on ignition. The power valve motor should operate and the power valve will cycle once. Leaving the ignition on adjust the cable adjusters until the power valve pulley arm has it's notch aligned over the drill mark in the pulley case. Leave about half a millimetre slack on each cable and tighten the locknuts.

10)Turn off the ignition and fit the outer cover using two Allen screws supplied.

11)Refit the side panels, seat and fuel tank taking care to install the fuel line correctly.

12)The new Vehicle Identification Plate should now be affixed (either use self tapping screws in existing holes on frame or use impact adhesive) to the machine and the frame number entered on the new plate using an indelible marker.

The machine is now ready for use BUT REMEMBER TO DRIVE CAREFULLY AS THE POWER WILL BE GREATLY INCREASED.

REMEMBER THE MACHINE MAY NOW BE DRIVEN ONLY BY THE HOLDER OF A FULL MOTORCYCLE LICENCE. REMEMBER TO INFORM YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY OF THE CHANGES YOU HAVE MADE.

blah blah blah...
