I was originally looking for an X8 too. Can't find any new ones. Decided to get the SYM GTS 200 instead. Understand the resale value is lower, but heck intending to keep the bike for long as a quick get around ride.

So far, rather comfortable ride. Nice storage beneath the seat. Here is a compartment for your parking coupons, handphone, wallet. And there is a 12V battery charger as well as breakdown light signal too.

Happy with it currently.

12litre tank. Average main tank will last me 250 to 280 pending on riding location and style.

Top box itself can contain 2 fullface and still able to squeeze some small stuff together. The underseat storage is even better, lots of space for at least 2 fullset raincoats and still enough space to go! Personally carried my army boots inside too!

Maintainance wise, 1 litre engine oil, 1 plug and one oil filter. Changed every 3000km for personal preference. Belt, rollers etc are available readily at every competant scoot-servicing shop. Changed the whole drivetrain system at only $220 which will last 15000km.

Dashboard is simple with one speedometer and one clock. The rest is temperature and fuel gauge. Analogue style, no complicated digital stuff to worry about when the bike is exposed to rain. Side compartment big enough to stow your handphone or wallet e.g. In-built 12v socket for that convenient mobile charger or vaccum cleaner.

What I heard about X9 is that they have this oil servicing light in their dashboard which is digital which needs to be reset everytime upon servicing.

Oh as for brand new, I doubt you can find any new X8 as it is quite an old model. I bought mine from ASPhoon one year ago and it was the 2nd last piece being brand new. 2nd hand could fetch you around 4.5k which I had enquired them, bike being 3 years old.

can anyone clarify that, where can i get a 3 years old 4.5k X9?? i looking for one..

I think inside X9 sub folder there is 2 person selling X9.

Do take a look @ both bikes. both have been fully done up.

alot of accessories some bros added like voltmeter, delta clutch, newer water pump and stuff....

accessories not necessary but basic maintenance is a must. that why a year ago when i got my x9, i spent over 3k just on maintenance. u can verify from bro horizoner..

but recently.. i got a thinking of overhaul.. doesn't like the sound of engine.

just to add, at least all x9 sure have 1 compulsory accessory, x9's rider.

Hi all, i am riding wave currently but intending to get a X9 as it is very relaxing and the storage space is big. However, learnt that it may be quite ley chey and ex in maintenance. So perhaps dropping the idea of getting one. Thus, wish to check any bros here got other gd recommendation that can match the x9 specs? Asking as I do not have much knowledge on such bikes..

Below are some considerations:

a) similar to skipper type as it is more relaxing (like X8/9) but not more than 200cc

b) storage space

c) *still thinking... maybe not so "thirsty" for fuel?ard 20 to 25km/l is quite gd for me.

Or X9 still is a good choice?

Appreciate any advice/sharing/tips/suggestions...etc. Tks.:)

Bro, comfort wise compared to yr wave is spot on .. about maintenance its certainly not cheaper but with regular maintenace should not be a bomb.

An advise is that you buy directly from forumers here cos it'll be more cheaper that from motodiam/shop and at least any problems you could feedback here (touch wood) unlike bike shop that will promise you the moon for the price of one.

actually if you are talking about 200cc with storage space, most on market >

1. Italy scooter > Leader engine > X8, X9, gt all same angine (maintenence higher compare to Taiwan scooter

2. Taiwan scooter > SYM GTS200 (maintenence lower but not much power)

I believe u got not much choices

hard to find cheap italians. Sym GTS also quite new, so i think 2nd hand also selling more than 3k. heard radiator issues are common with italians too.

Sym joyride. same engine as sym GTS. alot of second hand ones selling cheap. 1k to 1.5k. storage lose to italians though.
