guys, one more thing. does X9 have choke like SP? when u cannot start ur bike in the morning

All X9 have auto choke inside the bike. Like when you start engine, The RPM will maintain @ 2k for 2-3 min before the autochoke start to close and go down to 1.5k RPM. But some of older X9 autochoke have start to fail and will cause FC to go up. Reason being the choke is not close back when the bike is warmed. Just like opening choke and travel.

Hi all, another stupid questions from me. I rode SP before and i was told about the piston jam issue.

1) Does X9 have this problem?

2) What to do if it really jam? (like SP, we have to clutch in)

3) Can X9 do heavy braking? For SP, Heavy braking - skid.

Thanks for the help. I am an idiot in bike/

Unless you're a 2 stroke and scrimp on 2T, then you shouldn't have this issue much. For 4 strokes like your x9, just make sure you have EO between top/lower marks and changed regularly.

Piston jamming is when cooling is severely insufficient, resulting in rapid expansion of the piston and thus jamming in the cylinder.

Braking wise, it's usually your own competancy that counts. Use both brakes, releasing when it start to lock and brake again. x9 wise, both brakes are at the grips, unless you have the grip of death, it's probably not as easy to lock it as for foot brakes. But as said, it's up to the rider's experiences and competancy level.

Just my 2 cents worth, if I'm wrong, seniors out here please correct me, and I can learn as well. =)

Anyone can ride a bike. Being a biker, is a state of mind.

Maybe you can check the plug and the setting of your carb. Btw, do you throttle abit when you start bike?

Hi Zero,

May I ask you 2 question regarding x9.

a) How do you change the mileage on x9 digital display from displaying Miles to Kilometer?

b) Where is future scootering?

Thanks you for help in advance. I'm a new proud x9 owner.

Just saw this >> I can answer the 1st Question:

On the key first than On the LCD meter, push and hold the LEFT 2 button, off the key and on it again, it will set from Miles to KM.

This maybe late, but i think it may help some other members, cheers

To Kenny of Future Scootering,

I don’t know what magic you did but my X9/200 feels so light, smooth and very responsive after the servicing this morning.

I remembered you told due to my bike always parked for too long, you recommend me to flush engine oil, flush coolant, replace filter, spark plug & add in petrol additive. And I requested you to put in the best engine oil & best spark plug.

When the bill came, I admit I was little surprised but happy to see the total billed cost only less than $130.00 – and the best of it all, the labor charge is FOC.

Thank you for a good job done and reasonable pricing, please keep up!

* Alex & Francis - nice meeting you today, next time kopi on me..

Hi zero,

the product was OWS 3 in 1 engine cleaner.

You just remind me 4 yrs ago..... so fast is 4 yrs already. But I miss the most was the Scooter group outings/meetings/gatherings/DIY 7 years ago, wondering can it happen again now or future.... :)

Maybe someone can start and lead for all scooterist passions, share informations, Gathering, Riding, Touring Oversea together again..

Both got its pros and cons

one is X9 has a more comfortable seating posture while X8 doesn't has a LCD meter panel hence lesser problem...

X8 is also ideal for playing audio and has a bigger compartment space as compared to X9.

X9 is better looking than X8 but the mirror of X9 (evo) cost much more than X8.

personal recommendation - X8.

More info on the individual is available in its individual thread.:)

Thanks Kenny, I have looked up the answer inside the maintenance manual (downloaded from internet as well).

By the way, need some info from x9 owners. What is the maximum mileage you have clocked before changing the transmission belt?

I got mine 2nd hand. And was told that the transmission belt change can be delayed. Not sure by how much though.
