Hi Guys

I was there at MotoWorld to check out the suit.Great selection of motor gears too.

Unfortunately, the service really sucks! Was there for almost 15 minutes looking at the suits but the sales staff don't bother to help you(1 watching TV, 1 eating)& it's after lunch time,3pm.In the end,had to approach the staff & ask them about specifications etc... her answers are like yes lah & no lah types of answer. In the end, bought $300 worth of stuff & F@#k off from there.

Think i'm not going there anymore... unless really necessary.

Make up my mine & go buy Clover RC100.

old news. motorworld has variety in their products and that's why they have no fear of losing customers.

Is anyone using this suit?

i saw it at the scrambler clothing shop just opposite regina specialties. it's retailing for $950 SGD (i think) and it's quite pretty but the knee guards are rubber and stitched on permanently...

Was at Biketech21, Dunlop Street, just now. Shah has 3 sets of one-piece leather suits (Xstrom equivalents) going for $580 nett.

Quality of leather feels supple, quite light and has CE armour pads. A good buy for a budget track newbie coz I personally feel its value for money.

Check it out and see for yourself.

when buying a race suit, ensure that the leather is soft , supple and that the suit is comfortable fitting like second skin. My experience with cheap suits is that they simply dont have such qualities.

in chinese we say, "yi fen chian , yi fen huo".

It may be value for money but not up to mark in the most important aspects which a race suit is worn for.

I always ask myself a simple question when I buy something.

Am I buying for what it can do or am I buying simply becos it is cheap.

If the answer is simply becos it is cheap, than I usually wont buy it.

But I guess there are many first time track goers who are just keen to find out if track is for them, they can try out the budget suits and see if they're really interested before plunging a huge sum of money into such investments. :)

But ofcourse, if you are already a seasoned track junkie or a regular hobbyist, it's better to get something nice fitting. Afterall it's like an extension of your body. Why Throttle selling off suit? Giving up track?

Posted

fully agreed.

But going on the track is a commitment to begin with.

You dont need a suit to go down to the track first time or for joy rides on the track.

but the moment you start looking for a suit, you would already be prepared mentally to try out this sport for some time.

Riders need not only a suit which can provide the proctection but also very importantly the comfort. Comfort allows the rider to move freer and to ride better on the track. a Rider makes more extreme positoning with his body on the track than anywhere else on the roads.

Some basic things to take note when buying racesuit:-

1. Must be able to slip in and out of the suit easily (while wearing an inner liner suit)

2. Must be able to squat fully without feeling more than normal resistance from seams of the suit.

3. Should not be torned or repaired, preferably

4. Must be able to move both arms freely

5. Must be able to bend over maximum without feeling a "wedgie"

Finally, much as we hate, track riding is going to expensive.

track rental , racesuit, brakes, tyres, maintenance, repairs etc....

Track goers must be prepared to spend at least a fair amount.

If not prepared, then that means you are not ready for track riding.

Why selling my suit?

havent been on the track for about 8-9 months now becos decided to slow down , sold my sportsbike, spend more time and money doing other things, make my wife happy.....etc...

always thought that, I would simply keep my racesuit and gear as mementos cos I dont need the money anyway. But since it is in such good condition, it's really a waste to leave it hanging there. I'm quite surprised that no one has grabbed it yet at $830 with inner liner suit, it's a good price. Maybe I'll sell it at $800 to a sincere deserving fella.

Have always been a loner on the track so I dont have any real track buddies. Otherwise I'll be most glad to give my suit to a good friend.

Good posts! Newbies should definitely read them.

My suit was a rare occasion of comfort + low price, I guess.

for those who are interested in getting suits with titanium protectors, and not wanting to spend too much money, ya can try www.bg-performance.com

Their 1 piece cow hide titantium suits are almost half the price of 1 ya can get from Dainese T. KIRISHIMA V Prof, and these brands are worn by most MotoGP riders.

At the moment, they only accept Telegraphic Transfer for payment. I used the serivce of www.raffles1.net, in order to make my payment. I'm here doing the reseller a favour by tell those people who are interested in buying the suits on how to do a TT, as the peepz at BG Performance really provides excellent customer service.
