You've got a point there.

I cannot agree with you. Both beginners and experts crash and they all deserve the same level of protection.

A high-quality, well-made suit will survive more crashes and make its cost worthwhile. Plus it is usually lighter, more comfortable and more protective. A suit is not simply pieces of leather and fabric sewn together. The way it is made greatly affects its durability and the protection it offers.

yoz,

i still wearing 500 dollar suit since 2005.....crash till lost count....still can hold.

u give me dainese, confirm i wear dainese la. lighter and comfortable.

or i got a very good bank balance, i every 6 mth change dainese kangroo.

talking affordability pal.

wear expensive suit, scared to crash. later suit damage. notice all the dainese on track except the hardcore riders, all still look very showroom condition. at the same time, see those wearing cheap suits, also got plenty of damages.

the only difference is cheaper suits are heavier and harder.

when getting cheap suit look out for stuff like double stitching and armour. i am aware some cheaper suits dont provide this.

The protective leather pieces are stitched differently.

My other guess is that the protective armour are placed in different places (or are absent in motard leather suits)

I think I will be more scared to crash if I were wearing a cheap suit because I am not even sure that it can hold up in the event of a crash. Your $500 suit protected you for many crashes? Congratulations for finding a good deal - but you might just be lucky.

I am not saying that every rider should go out and buy the most expensive suit around. Buy what you can afford. But protection is something you should not try to save money on. Instead of a full system and PC3, why not spend the money on protection first?

Remember that a good rider is one that rides consistently without crashing. Riding fast but ending up DNF will do you no good. And it is much more expensive to repair a bike than to repair or replace a racesuit.

Chiap Lee does carry G-Max suits...I've seen the suit being draped from one of the hangars.

I'm surprised to see this kind of offering at Chiap Lee. They usually sell top-of-the-line gear

You go to the Fox shop opposite Regina, you will see Shift Motard suit....note the absence of the velcro for knee sliders.

It's still a good motard suit, a good brand Shift is.

Bro, you are right, but many riders are not sure if track is going to be a long term commitment yet, so maybe an entry level suit is a more approiate choice. Once they are sure, they will definately get a good suit, because they will understand your point.

And Amba is being pretty honest about the fact that buying an entry level suit, one must be more careful about the stitching and armour the suit uses. Reputable brands will not be where they are now with cheap stitching and low grade armour.

Chill....both of you make sensible opinions. It's better to get a proper suit before PCIII and full system, but an entry level suit is better than armour jacket and jeans while saving for a Dainese suit.

Is komine a suit worth buying?? pls share views and advise..newbie here just wanna have a go at track..

Hey dude,

I would highly recommend NOT buying the KOMINE suit.

It is infamous for being VERY heavy and restrictive to movement.

The best below $500 suit to start off with is STILL the G-MAX Suit.. I still have 1 with me..

Then as your wallet get thicker plus you get faster, DAINESE is THE Leathers you shud consider.. Dats the brand MOST Top riders use anyway..

And furthermore Dainese got their latest 2007 model in Singapore liao..

The LAGUNA SECA comes in 4 different colors.. They cost $1,500.00.. I think dats very reasonable for a 2007 model DAINESE..

The latest line of Komine seems pretty good with speed hump and all.... You dun mean that series right? I asked a fellow trackie, he paid more than $1k for it! That price I would buy Clover instead.
