"Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place and it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't how hard you hit; it's about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward. How much you can take, and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done. Now, if you know what you're worth, then go out and get what you're worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hit, and not pointing fingers saying you ain't where you are because of him, or her, or anybody. Cowards do that!"

if Fergie buy Silva, the competition on the left & right mid will be greater. we got Tosic, Valencia, Nani, Park & Giggs. i bet some of them will not be happy. & how do we know if Nani & Tosic wuld progress. Players need games to show their stuff. Valencia will be the first choice right wing according to Fergie. as for Giggs, his time of playing will be limited. so Nani, Tosic & Park will be fighting on the left spot. if Fergie manged to bring Silva to O.T, Silva will be on the left for sure.

;5686916']silva can play as centre mid right? we need creativity in CM

Silva best position is on the left & he can operate behind the striker too. in the center mid we got Ando, Carrick, Gibson, Scholes & injury prone Hargo. all of them not creative enuff unlike Scholes. we need the likes of Iniesta, Fabregas & a strong def mid. i hope Fergie comes in mind. & not forgetting i miss G. Obertan on the wing.

i have no idea why park is being played on the wings. with a man this industrious, he should be playing defensive mid...

Park is too weak to intercept players. once body contact were made he will be send flying. we need the ferocious Roy Keane type. what about Valencia playing in the def mid??

Edwin Misses Season Start

http://picsrv.manutd.com/?fif=/manu/img_10_30112_3033.jpg&obj=iip,1.0&wid=480&hei=179&rgn=0.006198347107438017,0.030534351145038167,0.9917355371900827,0.2732824427480916&cvt=

The Reds have been dealt a blow ahead of the new season after United confirmed that Edwin van der Sar has been sidelined for the start of the 2009/10 campaign.

The 38-year-old Dutch goalkeeper has this week undergone surgery on a broken finger and bone in his left hand, and will be out for up to eight weeks.

Van der Sar suffered the injury saving a penalty from Danijel Pranjic in United's 7-6 shoot-out defeat to Bayern Munich in the pre-season Audi Cup tournament in Germany.

The prognosis means that van der Sar won't be back to full fitness until the end of September, and therefore unlikely to be available for selection till either the Arsenal match on Saturday 29 August, or against Tottenham Hotspur a fortnight later after the international break.

It is frustrating news for Sir Alex, especially as van der Sar was so important to United's defensive solidarity last season. However, Ben Foster signed a new contract in July and Sir Alex said at the time that "[he] is seen as one of the best young goalkeepers in England and we genuinely see him as a successor to Edwin."

This could be the opening Foster has waited so patiently for, although Tomasz Kuszczak will also see this as an opportunity to prove his worth. Sir Alex's selection will be an interesting one for Wednesday's friendly against Valencia and at Wembley this weekend against Chelsea in the Community Shield.

:cheer: Man Utd 2 - 0 Valencia :cheer:

Scorers:

Rooney (56 min), Cleverley (73 min)

Entertaining football from both sides. A lot of chances created. A wonderful cross from A. Valencia to Rooney who finish off nicely with his head! Then young Cleverley finish off coolly for his 1st senior goal after a good work from A.Valencia. Poor Owen misses a lot of sitters.

Players Reviews:

Foster - No heroics action from him apart from being beaten by a wonderful shot only to be saved by the woodwork.

Ferdinand - Rock solid as ever. Clears the danger time and time.

De Laet - An adventurous young defender. Never shy to attack! Was good in his tackles.

Evans - Didn't see much of him.

Evra - As always, supporting whenever attack is launch.

Tosic - More room for improvement especially his first touches. Good in retreating to help out the defence.

Carrick - His long passing is superb.

Fletcher - Covers the middle of the park very well.

Valencia - Wonderful to watch. Very direct player. No tricks or such...but gets past defenders with ease.Great to see him trying the ball back after losing it.

Rooney - As ever, scores a good header. Created chances.....

Owen - Still as his old self except that misses a lot chances. Gets away from his markers very well.

Kusczak - Was in good form. force into making two saves. One point blank.

Fabio - Not much from him.

O'shea - Didn't see much of him.

Cleverley - Good performance from him. Scores a cool goal.

Anderson - No goals from him (hahaha).

Gibson - Was good with his long shots. Two great shots. One hits the corner woodwork and force a good save from the keeper.

Macheda - A glimse of action.

Berbatov - Had a goal ruled for offside. Other than that his normal self.

Nani - Probably not lot of times to impress.

Man Utd's 2 Transfer Targets:

Villa - Nothing much from him.

Silva - Impressive with his slick passing.

Overall:

The forward play and movement was very fantastic. Direct play from the wings and the strikers are very good. Defending was never a problem since we have good current and upcoming defenders. :thumb:

Nice review bro. Btw, my opinion is that the 3rd goal Berba shld hav been awarded as it doenst look offside. Wrongly flagged offside. Anyway it was a good n convicing performance fr e devils. Next match up Charity shield this weekend!!!
