U all can down grade ur chain size for better spin.....but it would last 80% of standard size coz its smaller....anyway if anyone want rental sprocket find me...i can get at abt 65 for bk 30 for front....the more the cheaper....

hi guys, anyone change before starter carbon?

Are U intending to DIY?? I did it a few days ago... It really a pain in the ass coz inside that little tiny starter motor are FOUR  carbon brush with very little space to work on but after cleaning up all the parts the engine started smoothly with the magic button now...

Just got back my bike after bringing it to Combine Motor. Didn't find them as amazing as speedtriple claimed though, but of course thats just from my point of view...... Blew a hefty $550 on repairs and servicing so i'm bleddy broke now...*sobz*

Here's a list of items that i changed:

1) Air & oil filter

2) Cam Gasket & Washer

3) Engine Oil (castrol Semi-syn)

4) Spark Plugs

5) Rear Wheel Bearings

6) 6 shims

7) 1 long Coolant pipe

8) Coolant

Was impressed at their level of commitment though. They called me at 8pm to tell me my bike was ready for collection. Reached at 10pm and they were still open, one mech was still servicing an ST11. But other than that i feel that there wasn't any big difference from Guan Hoe or Planet Motors.

I changed my cam chain and tensioner with valve clearance done last week. And of course the other standard things like shim, gasket, plug, oil filter changed, carb washed when u open the engine. Clutch housing tighten for free. My damage was $350 at the agent.

ha. what i described about combine motor is with regards to them fixing a persistent problem with my bike. i believe some of the gixxers here know that my bike has had a problem with cold start. i got my gixxer in jan 04 and has lived with the problem of engine dying at traffic junctions and high idling(between 2 and 3 mark) for months. Many shops just turn up my idling of just ignored the problem with i asked them if it can be fixed. some quoted me $400-500 to fix it.

So i am just happy that this problem was mainly caused by a dirty carb(problem identified) and it was washed and my problem was solved. Other basic servicing includes changing of plugs and tyre pressure check and misc stuff. My steering also became much much lighter after the service.

He also noticed that my throttle grip was loose which was good because my grip turned numerous 360 degrees when i rode up to sepang. So pekchek since it has potrusions for the fingers and can be uncomfortable if it is not at the correct place. He offered to change it for me and i feel that is attention to customer's needs.

Before i went, i did check comments on the shop in the forum and it is noted for the higher price but the skill of the mech(ah hock) is reputable. so i was exhilarated for these reasons and am most satisfied with the help they gave to me loh.

just to clarify... :thumb:
