Hi bros and sis, would like to ask all experienced s4 users regarding the difference between Vtec 1 and Vtec 3.

Looking through the forum, the differences i found between these 2 ;

-HISS system in vtec 3

-Meter

-Rear tail

-Vtec 3 is newer thus better engine performance depending on owner too

What other things did i miss out?

And if you can reccomend, which one is better?

Hi Tira,

Things to add:

-HISS system is implemented since Vtec 2 (If i'm not wrong)

-Yes meter is different, Vtec 3's odometer/tripmeter is inside the rpm meter. Fuel gauge/clock inside the speedometer and many others.

-Vtec 1 and 2 shaes the same old tail, revo and vtec 3 is the newer one.

-I personally think Vtec 3 is still over priced even after a few years.

-The rear brakes are on the top inside of the bottom side of the discs.

-Vtec 3 opens vtec different from vtec 1, vtec should be opening at 7,000rpm at 6th gear.

Things to look out if buying 2nd hand, I guess it's the common problem for 2nd hand super 4(my own views)

-Check coolant levels and radiator condition, pump system might be spoiled. Shops might top up tap water, request to look. Shops will top up at full level then cover it. Please check around a week or so after taking the bike out.

What do i recommend? You really have to look out for a good one, I have a vtec 1 which is 13 years and I'm lucky to find a caring owner. I've seen some vtec 2 or 3 worst condition then mine.

I hope this helps.

PS By the way, you can ask in the general questions section there. Do not have to start a new one.

A very good explanation! Thumbs up! even tho spec 3 is newer, if previous owner ride like no tomorrow then getting a spec 1 without problems is a good idea but i prefer spec 3 as it has re-sale value compared to other super 4s.

Hi Guys,

Could you provide me the location in Jb where they have awesome bike wash / polish service?

My rims are full of engine oil and both forks have rusts on surface.

Thank you!

There's a screw near the housing that holds the "stick" into place... Loosen the screw and u can remove the stick. That's the gear lever, attached to the gear housing.

Thks HaiR1 & XxPJxX for d info.. is fixing back easy.. wry if not properly fix will affect d gear...

It's easy... Like a bottle cap... Just slot it in... But before u tighten the screw, make sure the angle is right... Because it will affect the position of the gear lever...

Hi Bro's, was wondering if there are any tall 6ft+ S4 riders out there. I am going through my 2a lessons now and would like a S4 when i pass but i am 6FT 3 and find the bike a bit small. Are there any mods that will improve the bikes rideability for me? Maybe could get custom tall seat, or raise seat height, or longer back shocks etc. If anyone has any experience with this problem, i would love to hear your thoughts. Cheers all

400X might be another choice for you..... http://www.singaporebikes.com/forums/showthread.php/400784-Honda-400X

Hi Hondawave, good suggestion, the 400x looks like it would be perfect for me... but too ex. Looking for something second hand preferably. Cheers

I would suggest forget about S4 & go for DRZ actually.

Hey guys, when im pressing my front brake the bike will jerk during slow speeds. Like horse riding. Is the problem coming from the suspension or the brake needs bleeding? Im using HEL brake lines. Anyone experienced this before?

i have the same problem but it's got something to do with the brake and brake disc. it's actually caused by uneven contact between the brake pad and your brake disc not suspension or brake lines. how to solve it i don't really know it always happens when i replace brake pads. however it will eventually go away once the brake pads are worn out slightly and forms the same shape as the brake disc lol. i know this is not normal but i just have to suck it up and wait till my brake disc is worn then i will change a brake disc...
