This is extremely sad! I believe that the shop should provide you with a working bike in proper working condition when you collect it. If not - they should make it so.

Again - it comes back to the point that - IF YOU WANT TO BUY A BIKE - GO TO A PROPER SHOP THAT HAS A GOOD REPUTATION AS INDICATED IN THIS FORUM BY OUR BROTHERS HERE.

yupp.agree with it.lol.that time dont really go which shop better also ma.sad case.no next time already.this lesson fee expensive sia.

thanks.i go back to the shop already.i told the mech people my fork is not straight when turn will rub against something.they told me the bike can go stright can liao.wth lor.and i went to another shop the person say need overhaul the machine as he got test and listen to the sound and advise me to do so.anyone try before overhaul most expensive how much uh?

Suspension also important what...

Tell him you know the bike can go straight at 60km/hr.

But you are buying a Bike not a Helicopter.

When cornering at 60km/hr this SP will become Super Puma can fly one.

Ask him to change it, before it kills you... :sian:

Motorcyclist are the nicest people on the road, try not to kill us.

LOL.. that's a good one..

anyway, ts, a reptutable shop would normally change what you ask them to change if they checked and its faulty.. try to beg, hoax, pester them, whatever. ask them to get it done.

Rat bike - A motorcycle not necessarily kept in pristine condition, often painted matt black. Minimal maintenance and mismatched parts often used.

From your descriptions..Seems like the bike was in an accident before..Quite a bad one..And instead of replacin damaged parts the shop prolly just fix it up with a new paintwork only..:nono:

Go back shop and KPKB..No other choice..Don't think can get refund..Maybe they will "help" to "change" some of the parts..If they are gonna do this its best if you can get someone who knows about bikes to accompany you..And it will be good if you tell them you wanna see them do it on the spot (highly unlikely)..Just to ensure that they really did change the parts..Not sure if they won't charge you for the replacements tho..

And in future avoid the shop at all costs..Also tell every uncle/bro/friends you know about the shop..Get them to stay away from the shop..The ridin community doesn't need a shop like this..Run it to the ground..:gun:

09/07/2009 - Passed 2B TP (10th attempt)

I have tried to see things from your point of view..But no matter how hard I try..Or what I do..I just can't get my head that far up my butt..

TS, go get help from all SP riders.. I think there will be quite a few staying at Jurong areas also.. they might go down with you.. :)

Perhaps its the point of no return liao.

Once you hand over the cash, its more or less a goner.

Some shops give a verbal 'warranty' on 2nd hand bikes. But the problem is, it is verbal only and who knows what the 'warranty' covers? Visual check free but parts and labour not free? Most probably yes.

What you can do now is either to:

1) Bring back to shop and request them to repair at their cost. (Long, long, long shot)

2) Bring to other reputable shops for opinion and perhaps repair. (You can bring ur bike to the shop in my signature) :)

3) Sell the piece of crap since it really sounds like one. Sorry bro.

Everyone been a newbie and kena carrot before. The advice is to cut your losses before dumping the $$$ into a bottomless pit.

The problem with 2nd hand bikes is that they are well, used and probably abused and to most of us when we started out, we are clueless newbies attracted by the new flashy paintwork on the bikes, oblivious to crash damages and such. (I am still clueless after these years. ;p)

Of course the shop is supposed to sell us good and proper bikes, but the agreement when u sign on the paper is mutual. Sad to say, bro.

Best regards.

Q: My engine has a funny 'knocking' sound, but the sound goes away after I clutch in.

A: Its most prolly your clutch housing thats loose. All nsr150's have that problem after a few years. You can choose to ignore it, or bring it to a mechanic to have it repaired for s$30-40. But the sound will come back again in around 6months or so, so its up to you to see if its worth it or not.

Q: My engine has a rattling sound when my bike is at neutral (it may also be applicable to clutch housing loose).

A: Try throttling and releasing throttle at neutral. If you can hear a rattling(or metal rubbing) sound when you are clutching in and revving the throttle, its most prolly your engine bearings are loose already. Ask your friends who know bikes to check for you, cause if its that problem, you have to replace the engine bearings. To do that, you'll have to spend quite a sum of money to overhaul the engine also, since it means taking out everything.

1) Tank very hot ? Check your radiator , and see if there is any leakage of coolant or not. Radiator cap area the place where you pour in the coolant the tip got corrode? If the "mouth" of the radiator is uneven, air pressure will leak and cause your coolant to finish faster. SP from what i know , is more hot than KRR , in terms of temperature meter usually will be 25-50 percent (if you stuck at massive jams like woodland custom will reach 50-60) while KRR seldom will reach half. It should not over 60percent , from what i read yours is 95percent means something is really wrong.

2)Fork more on left side , check alignment of the fork. Some bike that had accident before their alignment will be messed up. Jacking back of the alignment might cost abit more, but definitely better than getting a new pair of fork. Check your handle bar if needed too.

3)Funny noise is knocking sound when in neutral and disappear when clutch in ? Very high chance is clutch housing problem which is the most common problem for NSR150. Replace it cost $30-$50 but the same sound will come back after around 6months. You might wanna ignore it. If its other loud weird knocking noise, high chance your baby is warning you send it to a doctor asap or else she might collapse.

Do you feel alot of vibration when travel above 80km/h ? If there is , means con-rod gone case. Definitely it will affect your piston and piston ring in long run unless you dont mind every now and then change your piston set.

4)Fairing no didnt screw? Try screw them yourself or ask a shop to screw for you. If still cant screw, means the bracket at the rear of the fairing broke. Drill a hole and use cable tie is the best solution in this case, unless you dont mind spending more to buy new fairing. (kinda waste $ if you buy 1 piece and respray to your current paintwork)

Thats all currently i can think of.. If you need more help feel free to pm me. Btw which shop you bought from? Send me a pm.. Cos I also have a bike under hire-purchase in that area now too lol.

Well....some bikes are bottomless pits.

You either try to fill the pit with a HUGE sum of money, or just cut the losses and get rid of it.

Suggest you take the bike to other bikeshops (Planet Motorcycle at Ubi Road 1 for one).

Let them take a look. Checking is FOC and trustworthy.

Trustworthy.

I cant reinforce this word enough, cos I dont know how many shops I can use this word on.
