nsr sp 150 speedometer

Err i think my sp speedometer is inaccurate... I heard that the speed appears on the speedometer will be slightly lower than the actual speed u are going? How true is this? My speedometer spoilt before because the cable snapped, and i had it fixed in a workshop. But after fixing, the needle move up in a very jerky way... So im wondering if the reading is accurate or not? Can a faulty cable cause a inaccurate speed reading or will it cause the whole speedometer to be not working?

a lot of vehicles speedos are infact innacurate,

this includes big bikes with digital speedos and cars as well.

isnt it the opposite, i mean travelling at 110kmph(speedO) when its actually 100kmph.
