thanks for ur concern bro... if i wan speed i would have gone for nsr150 or kipps liao wor heheh... passed by minerva today & saw a red/silver planet parked by the rd... the paintjob looks so cool!

 

and brought my bike down to bike shop & they improvised & fitted a bolt & few other washers and gear shifting no prob liao.

 

had a really really bad experience today! was going down to a bikeshop to buy the street legal arrow full system for my planet. had pmed & confirmed there is stock of it TWICE! called up yest & was informed dat they'll opened 11am today. i arrived too early so i parked my bike infront of the shop & go walk walk ard. 11+am i came by, closed. understandable. go walk walk again. came back still closed. so i juz stayed there & waited. 1150am then guy came & opened the shop. damn excited already, i went into the shop & guess wad the guy said? " eh dun have cagivas heh. aprillas & cagivas not the same rite? u leave ur contact & i'll get back to u on monday." he handed me a note & pen & went to serve other ang mo customer. me sb damn dl liao... specially took time off juz to go all the way down change exhaust, in the end went back home empty handed! not even a word of sorry!

 

maybe i'm over reacting or wad... had bad luck these few days but dats not the way to treat a potential customer! i was quoted a price twice but the exhaust was not in stock when i came down!

 

who brings in arrow stuff in spore? any other retailers?

hmm let's summarised the trouble i went through so far:

* indeed pmed & was quoted for the price of the full system TWICE! even confirmed dat they oni have the carbon/kelvar + aluminium endcan version, instead of fully carbon endcan!

*i had specially taken day off on saturday morning to go down change the pipe, upon learning dat they opened at 11am on saturday. had called them up the evening before to check wit the time too!

*i had arrived early but had waited almost noon before the shop opened.

*then found out they dun have stock for cagiva planet! even asked me aprillia & cagiva same or not!

*asked me to leave my contact, will get back to me on monday & went off serve other customers without sorries or even bothering me.

*monday, i called them back, sounded like they had FORGOTTEN to check! then again told me they'll get back to me @5pm

*510pm, i called back & learned they're out of stock, so muz order= muz wait for 3-4weeks!

 

 

so in all, how am i supposed to feel? angry? mad? words alone can't describe my feelings bro! or because i'm riding a small cc bike, exhaust cheap cheap nia, uncomparable to big cc bikes with exhausts dat can go up to few thousands?

 

so any bros ar, noe any shop got bring in arrow exhausts pls pm me the shop's address & contact... really fed up liao la... already got the mood to change and this kinda things happened!

biketech21 had adviced if i wanted the pipe asap, i would have beta gone down & place order for it personally tomorrow. diff impression from the pm & reply from it, as if already have stock liao. nvm... going tomorrow & c how lor.

hi raden, a brand new raptor125 is ard $10.5k machine price from minerva (ducati singapore )excluding insurance & forgotten had already included the costs of new number plate, registration fee, etc or not. stock bike should be the same as the old planet but with a more normal endcan instead of the planet's oval one. heard derestriction & jetting does wonders to the bike's acceleration & top speed... once posted a planet had 160km/h clocked on a r1 digi speedo?

for my bike, top speed on my meter is 140km/h, and since when my friend's rvf is 80km/h, mine already 100km/h, so my top shld be actually ard 110km/h nia... my other friend's phantom 150 sped past me no problem stock bike somemore eh haha!

 

though not dat fast & definately not cheap to replace the worn out parts, aprillia & cagiva 125s certainly caught everybodies's eyes!

wow so exp ahhh bro....my rw new one is just 6.9k u know....u mean the top speed of the bike itself is 140km/h before mod izzit??? cos mine can only goes to 110km/h only { max speed } ....

i like cagiva raptor 125 model but the problem is the tail is too shortlah bro...

wat i mean if u look at the bike by side-view, as u can see the rear tyre is more looking outward than the tail??? wasn't that true???

hmmm ok btw the bike is made from US izzit??? same as the engine?????

raden... cagivas are made in italy... jus like the italian name of the bike suggests...

its so much more expensive then your RW cos simply its parts are premium parts... take for example our brembo disc brakes... they are of the same calipers as the ones on the super four... dun forget about or marzocchi forks... those forks are meant for much much bigger bikes... in fact the same goes for most of the parts... but i jus dunno why they fitted a 125cc engine into it...

 

Jon, i have a colleague whose a race member of biketech... he is sort of sponsored by them... when i was down there two weeks ago i met the boss and he is definitely a friendly and helpful guy... maybe cos i know his race team guys... but you can give them a second chance... who knows maybe they'll serve you better now...

 

Anyway regarding the boyesen power reeds... actually not much difference in terms of performance... only that you dun feel that flat spot before your valve opens... cos the reeds are lighter and open more effectively... overall i dun feel the value-for-money and dun recommend it unless your current reeds need changing...

raden, u can check out minerva aka ducati singapore, lavender st. it's somewhere along the row of shops near the junction where lavender st meets balestier rd. the tail short... okies to me, like dat then special ma hahaa... i juz dun like the seatcover... too wide liao... infact from the rear view, looks almost identical to ducati monster, except for the twin pipes

angelus, the guys was okie, i went down today to place my order & pay deposit, all wents well & he assured me most prob this coming shipment in 3weeks time, or the next one in 6/7weeks time...

anyway, on way back home, passed by rowell rd so thought check out weda & bought the reeds @$48. was quoted $15 for installing the reeds @mah, opp sim lim but coming 6pm liao & the mechs all going home heh. then oni racewerks crossed my mind as they opened up pretty late, so went there & installed the reeds, did some jettings, washed the carb & a bottle of motul600 for $69. not bad considering the mech was engrossed in his work for few hrs fixing my bike. and found out the followings damaged:

 

*choke cable had snapped long ago liao

*air filter is non existance as all the foam had rotted & fall into tiny pieces liao

*took out the spark plug, can even c tiny bits of the foam covering it:giddy:

*the needle valve adjusting screw was seized & water was suspected to leak into the carb

 

after installing the reeds & took it out for a test ride, noticed an great improvement in the acceleration & response! and the engine sounds flatter & louder, maybe due to the lack of airfilter? the mech mentioned the stock exhaust is preventing the engine from gaining more performance so there might be a gain in lows but not highs. as for top speed, still the same, felt the new reeds juz make the engine rev faster & smoother.

any one noe where to buy the airfilter?

Jon, I think the only place to get the air-filter is minerva at the moment and they might not have stock. if you're gonna order let me know... i also want one piece

jon actually havent tried changing the cable, the mechs at Miverva told me that jumping needle is a signal that the unit is spoilt... and i believed them Anyway im still waiting for my used speedo to arrive this weekend, it comes with the cable too so i'll try changing the cable alone first. hah... the speedo comes with both kmph and mph, cool huh?

 

I think my air filter is still ok, was checked and cleaned when I got my bike in April, thanks for asking! Btw my planet is due for 5000km service by this month. Thinking of changing the fork oil to make it softer and also doing up the paint job at the same time. Anyone else's bike due for service or going down to miverva this month?

 

I was thinking we guys should really meet up sometime... will be grt to see more than 2 planets at the same place/time! Also gives us a chance to appreciate and compare our beloved Planets... and make us a more active community, so what do u guys think?

hi all. say if i juz had a minor accident.. and my taillight the whole casing chui.. smashed to bits. would minerva or anywhere else have these 'cosmetic' parts? if not i dont think ill pass inspection without tail light casing right! sian.

call miverva and ask for the spare parts department, they should advice you. Being the ex-official distributor, they should have spare parts for all parts incl 'cosmetic' parts. But I can warn u it wont be cheap; one indicator unit costs $40!!

ven, yeah it'll be cool to c lots of planets wit diff colours together heheh! considering it is a really rare sight to catch a planet on rd liao! and pls do update us whether changing juz the cable alone would fix the jumping needle problem

 

angelus, dunno whether would stuffing the airbox with a layer or two of wool or foam material would do the trick? now my bike sounds more throatier & louder without the filter eh...

 

my tail lamp oso almost chui liao... one of the screw housing had broke into little pieces liao & now using a longer screw to hold it in place. the other one showing signs of cracks liao the plastic material is those which are brittle & crack wit age eh..

 

or can we fix up a time & date to meet up? for kopi or makan to xchange ideas & comments how to fix up our bikes cheaper? hahaa... dunno where the older planeteers are liao... like terry, etc, whom had contributed greatly to the general information of this thread

 

and in case anyone whom is interested in the street legal arrow exhaust systems from biketech, you gotta place a deposit & wait for the shippment to come from arrow as from wad the guy had said, there aren't much planets ard so they dun stock them in. however i wasn't expecting alot of performance gain from the pipe as since this is a street legal pipe, so there's bound to have restrictions in the system to comply with the power or exhaust limits of dunno-wad-international-organisation, which is pretty darn silly as the bike wasn't made to perform originally of how it was designed for in the 1st place.

anyway bought it purely for comestic looks, & lighter than stock pipe=more fuel efficiency+easier handling. and heard it's almost close to impossible to cut open & weld back the header to remove the restrictions without risking cracks & visible signs of tempering to the system.

cool man! but if really need it urgently beta give them a call @62993710 mine still holding up wit the improvised screw. gotta save up money for new stuff eh heheh.... anyway i've installed my 2+yr old cateye bicycle speedo on my planet... works great plus readings for max speed, average speed, trip distance, etc. need to improvise some kinda of light for the meter to be read easily at night. not sure wads the max speed it can take but can go up to 100+km/h wit ease... bought another sigma bicycle speedo, which sold to my friend, rated to a max of 300km/h! plus confirm super accurate as u gotta key in the distance covered by one revolution of the wheel into it.

 

and already replaced the stock pilot lamp wit a blue led, looks cool, and juz installed a 65000k 60/55W>> 100/90W in place of the old one & some sort of reflector was preventing the new bulb from centering properly. would try to take out the headlamp assembly & see can remove the obstruction or not tomorrow.
