Yup, just gotten the 2012 R1. Love it! :lovestruck:

Motovation has the no-cut type? Just checking, if stationary drop or low speed crash, will the bracket dent it and damage the side fairing?

Hmm... I'm thinking of SPY too, but still comparing with other brands.

lol..ever try max how much can run after fuel light comes on before bike going to die ?? anyway u changed ur pipe?

Nope. I usually top up the moment reserve light comes on. Don't wish to take the risk of being stuck somewhere on the road and no petrol station in sight.

Yupz. Changed to Akra... :thumb:

Slip on only. I did not gut out the cat and put in a mid pipe. Illegal lah. My bike street legal...

This R1 is my first class 2 bike! The bike’s still running-in, so I will not be able to taste the higher end power for now. Anyway I won’t be giving it a review, just what I think of it from a noob’s point of view. :cheeky:

Haha…

For starters, the heat issue was expected. Just that, I didn’t know that my ankle’s going to get the heat. I’m wearing boots for riding now. So far so good.

What I love about this bike is the “3-mode Variable Map Function”.

I started off with the Standard mode since day-one. With this mode, there’s a lot of adjusting my wrist has to do trying to maintain the 70km/h limit in the KPE.

I tried switching it to B-mode (on the move) and it is a lot easier to maintain. Plus, where torque isn’t needed much, the fuel consumption is improved as well.

I can’t say much for the Traction Control (TC) now. Still getting used to the banking while negotiating bends. So with low speeds and conservative approach to bends, the TC will almost not be used at all.

As for the rear brake, it is too sensitive for me. I need time to get used to it. Tried high speed braking, and fish-tailed a little bit on a few occasions.

Currently riding at RPM below 4k, Standard mode, TC level 6.

I’m putting the TC level at its highest just so I can see it in action. The TC haven’t had the chance to work its part yet.

That’s all for now. Love my ride! :lovestruck:

Dislike?

Ah, one more point.

I also have to get used to reversing the bike.

Reversing the R1, while tip-toeing into a lot isn't easy at all! Takes some time.

Now learning to reverse the bike while dis-mounted. A lot of getting used to its weight.

ic...but slip on only like not much difference right ??

Yupz. Increase of 1 bhp only. However, I replaced the pipe for aesthetic purpose. Looks nicer. Hate the trumpet look of the stock pipe...
