Hi guys riding r1 2012…I intend to change my pipe just end can to termi or akra… but I am just unsure if I need to do a mapping or can I just use the ecu? I also confused abt the diff between the ecu and power commander?what is the diff between mapping and dyno jet? Somebody pls help me clear my doubt…

 

mapping is for EFI bikes like yours.

dyno jet is for carb bikes as what some says, going to be in the museum soon.

Changing end can alone doesnt require to do a mapping(retune) of ur bike. there wont be much change to e exhaust compression. Aftermarket endcan alone is mainly more for cosmetic,sound,weight.n some brand of exhaust even will give u lesser horse power then stock.

ECU is e brain of ur bike which control all ur electronics. Power commander is use to alter/customise ur air & fuel ratio(aka mapping) to e bike as EFI bikes cannot be tunned like carburator bikes.

Mapping is e mixture of ur air & fuel.

Dynojet is a brand name

thanks bro... That means i cannot alter the air/fuel intake using a ecu right? i need a power commander to do a mapping right? if so what can i do wih a ecu(function)?

Yes. u need a power commander/bazzaz/juice box(alot more) to do a mapping. ur bike will run on e mapping install in those gadgets. the stock mapping store in ur ECU will be bypass by it.when u remove those gadgets, ur bike will run back on stock mapping

Where can I get the black key? And the red master key i should take from the shop I'm paying right?

 

Can't I just use my existing black key to make another key? What are the setbacks? Thanks.

Just follow my step, u will not be wrong. Red key is impt to program ur key.

Hey guys! have purchase a R1 2012 (though waiting for all paper work to be done.) just to check with you guys. hard run in or soft run in? which is better. And if i going change a termi end can, should i go for dyno?

U need to get a pc before u dyno, if u want the optimum performance, go for a dyno after you change your exhaust even if it's just the endcan. A hard run-in will squeeze more hp from your bike, but your engine wouldn't last as long as a soft run-in. So it all depends on how long do u plan to keep your ride, and the purpose of your ride, whether it's just a track bike, or a mode of transport.

Most shop give De free akra. Even agent also give free exhaust..

Now u already buy the bike the salesman can don't give u the exhaust. Sure he ownself Makan.

Haha try asking for it lo cos now I heard de is as long as brand new Yamaha class 2 bike sure got free exhaust

I bought my second hand 06 R1 from I-Motoring. Within the first month i had to push to shop twice for servicing.... Juz wondering, anyone out there has a problem wif starting your R1? Mine seems to have a problem starting. The battery will drain, but the bike wont start. it wont even crank. and it happens periodically.

 

Now without my bike i have to squeeze the bus... sigh...

 

Btw, is $60 considered expensive for making a spare keys?
