that's why i am trying to figure out a way to install another switch to off the headlight even though my main light swtich is on. i wouldn't want to ride without tail lights at night just so that my bike wuold look nice with angel eyes. haha! anyone can provide me a circuit diagram so i can try? |:

i'm trying to go around and look for those blind rods (those used by the CRX guy in his DIY). anyone has any idea where can it be found? gonna try IMM tomorrow. i remembered there used to be quite a few curtain shops. don't know if they're still around though..

m@trix: i bought the EXACT same ones for $2 each. maybe cause mine was white and yours is red? hmm.. didn't know sim lim tower also got shops that carrot people. haha!

looks like everyone went to art friend to buy up all the 8mm rods liao.. hahahah..

I bought my 5V LEDs from 3rd floor shop called sun light (should be sun light...) it is on the LEFT of Kai Chin (Note: there's 2 Kai Chin on 3rd floor).

Hey how long are the rods that you guys bought at art friend? $6.70/m sounds very cheap!

M@+r!X: you remember the shop name where you bought the resistor ready LEDs?

I think the LED price fluctuate because there is a sudden increase of demand for it. I should collect commission from them liao.. hahahah

Another PM question to share.

The angel eyes works best with bike that can switch between parking/pole lights and main headlights. Basically pre-97 registered bike that have headlight switches. post 97 bikes have their headlights on by law.

bro i totally got no idea wad is the shop name but i only noe is u go basement by the escalator 1nce u reach u make a u turn walk till the end turn left n follow thru all the way till the end its at a very secluded corner, the entrance of the shop shoud haf loads of wires hanging on the left side of the shop

tt y i went to the shop at the basement the 1.20 set includes the 5mm led with a positive n negative wire, resistor already connected, with an insulating shrink sleeve covering the entire top part of the wire (the part which holds the resistor and connecting the wires and bulb)

oh n it is almost impossible to drill a hole in a 6mm rod coz if u do u only have 0.5mm remaining on each side of the road tt's y i didnt drill any hole, i didnt use the 8mm rod coz i tink tt it is slightly too thick, all i did was simple wrap aluminium foil at the tip holding the bulb and the rod and tape it up

oh.. i think i noe which one u buy liao.. those hanging there one right on the floor/trays..

the bulb is clear color.. then got diff wire colors like yellow, white, blue? that one $1.20/pcs ah.. cos i duno the color of the LEDs.. so i nv buy.. haha.. kenna "carrot" la me.. i bought 1pcs $3.. i asked for the super bright one.. but it don't seems bright to me AT ALL!!

then i still buy resistor when there's build-in resistor.. but duno can tahan anot.. not sure.. i'm noob in these.. resistors 80cents/each..

LEDs: 1pcs/$3

Resistors: 80cents each (i bought 270 Ohms/0.5Watt)

Reflective Stickers: $2/Yard (from Regina)

Shrink Tube: $3.20/50cm (10mm white shrink tube)

Acrylic Tube: i want to get those for window blind kind, PLEASE PM ME IF YOU KNOW!

huh..resistors 80cents each?... erm... chop chilli chop chilli chop chop chop...

resistors go 3rd floor buy. each resistor should not cost more than 10c. no need to buy high quality or .5% tolerance ones.. get normal 5% can liao.

alamak bro tt shop i went to is the cheapest i tink so far, before i decided to take the ready made ones i consulted the auntie thr and explained to her wad i want den she told me 4 leds 3 resistors without wires costed only 2.40 but i being the failure in physics and the lazy one, decided to go for the ready made 1s which are still darn cheap! the colours i oso blur didnt really noe but i asked the boss thr coz he was showing to me his "angel eyes" made of fibre optic cable.. however not nice coz no magnifying effect frm the cable

don't know if coincidence, but do not let aluminium foil contact the "legs" of your led when it is on. i just blew one LED by doing so.

anyway went down to sim lim tower today to get the stuff. i can say some shops see cheap LEDs but expensive switches, but some shops sell expensive LED, but cheap switches. i got my LEDs (10 for $5), resistors ($0.05 each), switches, wires from 2 different shops.

then i went down to spotlight (plaza singapura) to look for those blind rods, only managed to find 7.5mm rods. not the hexagon kind the CRX guy used. $3.99 each, i bought 4, each is about 60cm and can make 2 rings for SP.

hope this is useful for those who want to try the DIY :D

now i'm having problems drilling the holes, seems like my drill not high power enough. -.-

Relay is used for Components,tt draw high current. And when switched the sudden rush of the Current might spoil the componet and drain the batt, thus a relay is used to prevent a sudden rush, and acts as a fuse, usually relay uses 30A,if you one to use a "relay" just a 5A fuse is more than enough for this DIY.

Nope a relay is not needed.

then regarding the reflextive sticker...

is it a must?

if so.. then is paste along the cutting edges or opposit?

but if i;m not wrong as for the reflective sticker... the reflective side is not the sticky part..

the reflective sticker is shiny at the bottom side also. i stick over the cuts i made with the saw. I will take some pictures of it tonight to show what i mean.

like I told you in case of short circuit, meaning the current bypass the resistor and goes direct to the LED. So if there is no Resistor... I=V/R = V/0 is infinity... so LED will burn... No coincidence dude...

forgot to mention about the drilling... if you can find a G-clamp secure the rod wrap in phone bool or something. Then use the smallest drill you can find to drill a pilot hole... small drill can cut easily into the rod and is easier to control and thus more accurate, managable... once the pilot hole is drilled then use the desire drill bit to finish off the job.

:D maybe that's why my LED blew. lol.

my drill is rated 2500RPM, the ones that the guy used is 6000RPM. what to do, my drill cost $30 only. :D

i'll take photos and post up the ring when i'm done tomorrow.. (:
