guys... i got a question...

i brought my leds from simlim tower...

then is a super bright LED the only run in 1.5v... but then the aunties there dunno the current drop for each LED>..

so how am i going to determine the resistor for my 12v batter connection?

haha, those auntie and uncle only know how much to sell, they won't know the Voltage & Current requiref for each LED...

Check EBay, there are power seller there selling LED with full spec, so just take their specs as default won't be too far. I always assume the Voltage drop for each LED to be 3.5Vmax then current required is 20mA (for my 10mm White LED) so far so good, no blown LED!

those square type might be lower at 2.5Vmax but current requirement still the same.

for resistor just use from 220-280ohms will do.. for a 12v batt.. i'm using 270.. workin fine as well ^^

if not you use formula 2 calculate loh..

Ohms = ( V.bat - V.led ) / Amp.led

where:

V.bat = voltage of battery

V.led = voltage of LED

Amp.led = Amp of LED

for your case (12v - 1.5v) / 20mA(i suppose it's 20mA) = 525ohms [if i calculated correctly?]

but u can use a slightly lower resistor to make ur leds more bright but PLS not too low.. for u it's abt 525.. so u can use abt +/- 150 lidat loh.. so u try getting like 400+ ohms one lo.. shld be fine..

haxagonal or rounded? btw i got new project in mind.. keyhole light!! anyone interested... i cant seems to find any diy on the site.. but this mod mainly for cars.. bikes i not sure how to do it..

Ah_pui: not bad angel eye... but the cuts are too wide apart.. and the ending part are too many.. shld make it more balanced.. btw.. time to upgrade your angel eyes.

1) Buy red reflective stickers. (Thick enough for 1side of your angel eye).

2) Trace out the outline of your angel eye(the cut side).

3) Cut out the reflective stickers

4) Paste it

5) Viola..

buy the blinking leds from the shop i told u.. @ b1, near the stairscase going up, @ the corner corner.. ^^, i think i bought 1 pcs $0.60 or 0.80.. forget price.. blue and red different price.. u see the counter there got many display.. lol.. even got one led got pink.. but the led inside like cloudy.. don't know how to explain.. u gotta see you understand.. they also got RGB led.. the led changing color.. also got red and blue.. haha.. btw the shop uncle v.nice and friendly.. go there actually to buy those wire that got lights one.. but too thick.. give up and do this..

for those wana make angel eye the easier way can buy the wire.. den u just "wrap" it ard ur headlight to create the shape ok liao.. ownself do the wiring, switch, etc.. 1m $6. got red/white/blue/yellow(not sure issit yellow)
