TLR.jpg

I will be scraping my TLR at the end of this week (7th Sept 2014) so I thought I will offer it up to any taker.

TLR 1000R

Registered 12th March 1999

COE till 11th March 2019 (PQP paid S$928)

Bike is currently in Combined Motor, dismantled due to a worn out engine crank shaft. A new one order in from Japan will cost S$2k and the total bill to get the whole bike up and running will cost around S$5k (quoted by bike shop). A 2nd hand selling on ebay will cost S$650 and total bill to get it up and running should be under S$4k.

So I am offering the bike up for any taker.

Buyer will need to pay:

S$500 to me for the value of the remaining COE

S$11 to LTA for the transfer of ownership

Bike can be layup till it is fixed so you save on insurance and road tax.

There is one final catch. The new owner must rebuild and not scrap the bike as part of the deal. I do not want someone to take over it just so they can make money by selling off the parts.

Please call or sms me @9060 0707 if you are interested.

I reserved the right of refusal to anyone who I don't feel is sincere in getting the bike up and running again.

Cheers

Wee Sim

Thanks for your interest in the TLR. I have received offers from 6 parties, of which 3 are looking for self-rebuild, 2 will go with Combine Motor to have it rebuild and 1 that wants it rebuilt at another shop.

For those who will have Combine Motor rebuild it, the terms remain where buyer pay:

-S$500 to me for the value of the COE

-S$11 for the LTA transfer fees

-S$5 for the LTA lay up fees (so you don't need to pay insurance and road tax)

The total cost of fixing up the bike with a new crank shaft flown in from Japan is estimated to be around S$5k as previously mentioned. Under S$4k if you source for 2nd hand crank shaft on ebay.

For those who are doing self-rebuild or looking to rebuild it at another shop (something which I didn't think of initially), the terms will be slightly different. Buyer will need to pay:

-Combine Motor $500 for the labour, work done on the bike and storage

-S$500 to me for the value of the COE

-S$11 for the LTA transfer fees

-S$5 for the LTA lay up fees (so you don't need to pay insurance and road tax)

Given this new (cost) development for those looking to self-rebuild or rebuild at another shop, please let me know if you are still keen on this.

Many thanks.

For those who are doing self-rebuild or looking to rebuild it at another shop. Buyer will need to pay:

-Combine Motor $500 for the labour, work already done on the bike and storage

-S$500 to me for the value of the COE

-S$11 for the LTA transfer fees

-S$5 for the LTA lay up fees (so you don't need to pay insurance and road tax)

Update 21 Apr 15:

I just got back from overseas so finally some time in Singapore to put this bike up on the market again.

The bike is currently on layup in Combine Motors. I have paid up the $500 to Combine so the new owner will pay me $888 regardless whether he/she choose to rebuild the bike him/herself or have it rebuild by the shop.

Please read the posts above to follow the whole picture before calling me. It contains all of the details of the bike and its current state. I will appreciate not having to answer call asking if this is a 2B bike or where can I view the bike etc. Thank you.
