next time must find u if got time....hmm...maybe earliest Jan already manz...

Oh, anyway...i think my left exhaust emit not as strong as the right side leh...cant remember last time izzit like that....but then left side becoz the exhaust has a flat part...so might be due to that too....some air go over to the right exhaust instead...

you guys left exhaust got like that??..it's not a big difference...maybe like 10% diff at most...

Hi, the flatten part of the headers on the left side is a factory dent, don't know why it is like that,i don't like it either cos i think it restricts air flow, but John would like to differ..hehe.The left side is also supposed to be cooler then the right. All is in order.

BTW,does anyone of u stay in the Northeastern part of Singapore?I saw a TLR today...Hmmmm....

No worries abt the dent. Its been tested out and found not to have any negative effect on exhaust flow...

nah...was wondering if my tps not in sync....beocz i changed plugs...my iridium got cranky again...iridium don't last as long as normal plugs...

anyway, i guess it's becoz some air is channelled to the other side...that's all.

i'll probably find some time to meet up with John some time in Jan...wanna see the teka thingy...

Hi guys,

im having problem starting my bike in cold temperature and it takes 10-15 crank to get it started. i suspect its either my spark plugs or it could be my mapping that results in either a too rich fuel or air mixture. Whats ur take on this? Pls advice. Thanks

check your spark plugs...

Mapping wun change anything unless weather turns too cold.

check the spark plug and your starter motor.

Also, you might want to take some time off and try check your battery voltage when the bike is cold.

If still got problems, PM me.

Iridium plugs are suppose to last up to and over 50,000km...

Your problem could be a host of things...carbon built up...TPS out... fueling out... voltage too low....airfilter dirty... injector clogged.... fuel pressure regulator out...

If I understand your problem... your engine is "eating" plugs and that means that its fouling them... that means that somehow the fuel is too much... or not atomising enuf... or not enuf air to get the correct fuel/air ratio... engine oil getting into the combustion chambers.... etc etc

What's the mileage on your tiller? Does it also "eat" engine oil... do you have to keep topping up engine oil?

As for the endcans... I checked before... one of the sides is hotter coz it's in the rear cylinder... less air circulation...so it heats up more... not a worry.. normal.

Guys, always go back to basics first... maintenance, check fuel consumption etc... coz if a bike isn't working well.. first sign is always higher than normal fuel consumption

Oh... one more thing... is your plug for the correct heat range??

There are "hot" and "cold" plugs... check the manufacturers' reference guide

10-15 cranks is too much.

Assume that you are on a TLR...

Assume that you refer to start when cold as in overnight parking? Our weather change in temp is not too drastic to affect engines in general

Do your basics... airfilter etc etc

what plugs are you using? hot? cold?

Is your idle too low?

Is your TBs sync-ed

Does you bike run smooth after warm up?

Did you do any re-mapping of your ECU? What did you/they do?

Any vacuum hose leaki? out of place?

WRT the Dent... as some mechanics would say "Si Arneh Kuan la" is like that la....

:D

OK, on a serious note...and addendum... see your drive chain... it runs over ze pipe no?... so ze flatteen part is for better chain clearance.. when ze chain is NOT properly tensioned.. it rubs on the pipe..rub rub rub.. later you have a vely vely loud pipe... but only from ze left side coz got ze hole on ze pipe... oh... and drop in performance... and increase in fuel consumption.. how nice...HAR HAR HAR

Crap... I woke up with a funny (at least I think I am..hahaha) bone today
