Sorry to interrupt, newbie to ST1100 here.

In which year was ST1100 stopped production? I know it as been replaced by STX1300. I mean, if I want to buy a ST1100 (not STX1300, too sporty for me, don't like to bend so low), which is the newest ST1100 machine I can get, in which year? The newest one I saw on the road is FU plate, is there any newer one around? FW, FX plate have?

Thanks pal.

People ask me, "Why ride bike?" I ask them back :"Why drive car?"

Uhmmm excuse me..... if you think that thee reason for not getting the sTX is cause the sitting position then i blur liao. the sitting position for STX is better than st11 by a margin...

the only reason u get a STX is the willing to invest that $$$. ST11 is a bullet proof bike so good choice also.

Make sure the reasons u get a tourer is valid. ie. ST11, STX or FJr....

Thanks for clarifications, pal.

I didn't sit in either ST1100 nor STX1300, I base on seeing the bikes only, STX1300 look wise, doesn't appeal to me (compared to ST1100) as it is too sporty (I prefer more tourer type), and you are right, the other more practical reason is its price tag of $29k.

My budget is only abt $18 to $20k. Maybe that can't get me a brand new ST1100 either, right?

For info, I'm 36 yrs old, 182cm and 100 kg, currently riding a Honda Silverwing, wanted to upgrade to a larger scooter but it seems that Silverwing is the largest scooter so far I know (Suzuki Burgman 650 also very big but I don't really like Suzuki, I trust Honda!)

HAlo... I'm also scouting for ST 11 or STX of cos looking for second hands... Cos 1st hand abit not affortable for me especially the insurance... 25 yrs of age.

I got an offer for 8.5k for a FS plate from an owner I met for ST11.. do you guys think that it is good for grab|??

But I dun really like the color maroon... outlook of the bike can say it is GOOD!! But It is abt 6 years old and might have problems therefore still thinking and scouting maybe can get a younger ST11 or STX.. Budget is abt 18k for STX and 10k+ ST11..

Currently my superfour the bike shop only take in 7.5k and I still owe 4.1K. haha So cash I can give is that of the remain..

For me, when I cruise between 80 -100kmh, my fuel consumption would be around 21L - 23L if I use 5th gear. But when got pillion, it would be between 20L - 22L already.
