Hi all,

 

Just took over ST11 from direct seller. Currently encounter clutch issue, whereby the biting point seems to be get nearer to the grips. This happen when I clutch in, waiting for traffic to turn green or even gliding while manouvering between cars. At that point, to get engage, it just a small movement to my grips. Biting point gets back to normal position after a full release of the clutch lever.

 

What I understand is the clutch plates and housing have been replaced earlier this year. I went to workshop but they did bleeding. It does not help.

 

Anyone encounter same problem, and possible to share what is the remedial? So far, engine died on me 2 times and to get it start, i end up hogging the road (engage to nuetral, start engine, engage and go..) :(

Ur plm could be either clutch pump seal leaking or slave pump unit's 1 of 2 seal leaking, OR both of the system plm resulting to loosing pressure, to completely solve the plm replace both.

thanks bros. I'll get the pumps replaced. but apart from gopa, which other workshop is familiar/got stock for st11?

 

Also with help from the seller, found out the clutch switch faulty. bypass it and no problem starting with gear engaged. :)

Jupri, your old workshop don't do ST? PM me if you want my workshop. Just be prepare to wait cause he work slow.

Any shop can handle big bike shouldn't have plm with ST1100.

 

Recently I've with HKL to rebuild my near 10yo for anew life, competitive price & reliable service.

Hi guys,

I'm a newbie with st11. Got a problem with my clutch. Tomorow thought of towing it to a bike workshop. Anyone know where i can have the clutch serviced. Appreciate if i can have the address too.

If ur clutch plm has got no compression. I suggest u top up the clutch reservoir n pump several time again, compression force got back then continue ride it to workshop to replace both the seals, the pump seal n slave pump seals.

Hi simon,

So what type of oil should i use to top up the reservoir? Yes it does not have the compression.

 

DOT4 clutch/brake fluid. Keep pumping as u add until u get compression.

Hi guys, I'm letting go my ST11, anyone here interested? Selling cheap. $4k neg with plate no.

FM21A, coe till Nov 2020, rd tax renewed on 14 Nov 2012.

Why cheap you ask? Coz with cheap stuff there's always problems.

If you wanna buy & ride, its not for you. I would recommend you have it rebuilt.

Need to sell due to family commitments and this is my 2nd bike. Only used it for once a week since I bought it 6 months ago.

All servicing and repair done, so buy with peace of mind. Road tax till 30 Apr 2012.

so would like to ask how much does the insurance cost.. im 25..

n which is e model tat is problematic one (i heard from a frenz)

Insurance close to 1k for your case. Problematic? Not that I know of but since ST is all majority old bikes, wear and tear bound to have. Maintance wise, EO, spark plug, oil filter. Depends on the grade of EO you use. Price varies.

Bro, may i know why his insurance is expensive? I have not been riding for 15 years and might consider riding again... ST 11 my choice
