aiya like that cannot tell lah. my TDM also got dent on the exhaust and some paint marks on the fairing. once pushing my bike toward the air pump i trip on my own leg and drop the bike onto the curp. thought got dent on my exhaust i still consider my bike accident free :cheeky: but pls dont quote me 'cause i dont know wat really happened to that buke in dili:goodluck:

comics,

i might take a look again at the bike. actually, the dent and marks are not very obvious or big. so, i'm not sure if it's caused by accident or just a topple on the side and hit a curb. the salesman was busy entertaining others looking at the BMWs so i didn't get a chance to speak to him about the bike. 12K sounds like a good investment to me on a FV plate. I saw someone posting a 2002 bike with 23K mileage selling at 14.2K. I think it's overpriced.

could you teach me what else must i check before buying a tdm? any ideas guys?

i hit top speed around 195 during my trip to Koh Samui. that was with three full box and other barang barang strap to my bike.

and there still room for the rpm needle to move but bike start to oscillate/wobble. Once started, will get worse and worse. have to really slow down to cure the oscillation. even to below the speed where the oscillation start

no problem ^200km/h. when ride up NS highway i often open up ^ 200km/h when there is clear road ahead. infact i find it very stable even when going around bends. but taking into cosideration my bike got no boxes or what ever that may affect the air flow around the bike:goodluck:

May be with a higher wind screen will help if going NS high way...didn't see any TDM900 with higher wind screen humm... don't know if givi got any of such screen???

You become successful the moment you start moving toward a worthwhile goal.

hi casio,

i have seen the tdm 2 weeks ago at dili..the dents are not too obvious ..but the ugly looking sideboxes look like they've been thru some hell... i thought the mileage was something like 24k...

anyway, i would have gotten it if i had the money...

cheers..

Hi Kenny,

When i saw the bike, the sideboxes was not attached with the bike. So i'm not sure how bad it were. But based on what you have said, it really sounded bad. Anyhow, i'm not too keen on a yellow coloured bike. Would go for darker colour if there's one available. Still i'm not just considering this bike.

There's a few others selling off their TDM as well. Good luck in your search if you are looking for one.

Cheers

Casio

can anyone advise me what is the best option for top box and side pannier? i mean the model, brand etc. am thinking of getting either one but not sure which is better. will it look weird to have a top box? i know side panniers will not because there's panniers from yamaha as accessories. but original panniers cost a bomb.

thanks

where do all the tdm riders hang out?

Should have no problem getting a size 18 tyre.

No in depth knowledge on tyre but personally feel that the original tyre, metzeler Z4 (for mine) is good. Quiet and good grip in the wet.

Wanted to changed to Metzeler Z6 but due to $$$, settled for BT020.

BT020 feel abit rough during travelling and generate abit more noise compare to Z4.

Anyway, try to buy the best tyre (or any other thing) you can afford when Safety is concerned

Thanks. I have heard that BT020 (Bridgestone right?) quite good. Well anyway good to know that there are choices of 18' tyres around.

Well, i am now waiting for the COE bid before i can get my TDM. Hope it wouldn't shoot above $1000

Hello tdm riders,

Just wondering is it easy to get the 18" front tyre becos not a popular size? Any recommendations of other brands rather than using back the originals?

Thks.

The Met Z4 that comes with it feels great but a little high in $$$. i settle for the BT 020 'cos cheaper  apogez is rite abt the noise but other than that i m quite happy with it after riding ~3k on it. next change will wish to try the Met Z6 if got spare $$$:cheeky:

Oh yeah..

if you guys are interested to know if you have any summon or if you are caught on camera for speeding in malaysia, you can check from this website.

http://www.rilek.com.my

you have to register for a username though. after login in, go to polis diraja malaysia (PDRM) and check for summon.

if you have summon, you can choose to pay at TP JB or at Malaysia Embassy (pay in SIN dollars and only available till Jun 04)

hope this helps
