Ok reason why NTUC is expensive is when your bike get stolen at JB then they will pay you back the market value...

For allianz.. if you lose it in malaysia.. what they give you is 50% of market value

It is not your agent's fault lah... It is the insurance companies which set the price... like what others have said different company sets different price because their coverage and excess amount are different. Just ask around but think alliance is quite competitive in term of price.

u cant say its ntuc unless ur quote is gotten from ntuc direct?

or through 3rd party, if through 3rd party shop, if u got rip off, its not even ntuc fault. anyway TS only say agent? which mean real insurer or 3rd party shop who can quote u different coy de rate at once.

Hi I wanted to ask, what's the difference between getting insurance at 19yo P plate, 19yo non P plate, and 20yo non P plate.

Road hogger @ 50km/h on 4th lane

A bike can go up till 200km/h, can the rider go up till 200km/h o_O

I think different insurers have different rates for different bikes. So, cannot say which one is the cheapest. But can compare which one pay out more promptly when a claim is lodged. I think pay-out wise, NTUC is known as the best.

My Aprilia Atlantic 200cc, NTUC quoted me $1,000, says because it's Aprilia. They simply ignore that it is a scooter...... So, I checked AXA, they quoted me $200 only....

However, AXA does not insure exotic brands, like Ducati and MV... For exotic brands and bigger cc bikes, so far I found Liberty is the cheapest.

Honda Phantom TA200 FW (2006 --- 2007)

Ducati Monster 400 FZ (2007 --- 2008)

Aprilia Atlantic 200 FW (2007 --- 2012)

BMW R1200C FBD (2008 --- 2009)

Harley Davidson XR1200 FBD (2009 --- 2009)

MV Agusta Brutale 1078 RR FBE (2009 --- 2011)

Aprilia Caponord FW (2011 --- )

First of all, blame it on those ppl & workshops who claim thousands of bogus $$ when making an accident claim. Especially workshops who claims very excessively from insurance co. to make the extra moolah & lawyers who actually work in hand with the workshops on this kind of situations to make extra dough.

2nd, the collapse of AIG bck in 2008, which sky rocketed all other insurance co. premiums at 1 go.

All these excesses will go back to the consumer down the road, or in this case, it has already reached the consumer.

Lucky now the insurance co. has tweaked its claim system i.e IDAC within 24hrs, only selected workshop allowed to do repairs, etc..etc... but actually its already too late...

Premium has skyrocketed....

Whatever it is, Ill go with NTUC, accident, theft & fire coverage until the borders of Thailand.

Just my 2 cents.

Cheers!!

What exactly does "market value" mean?

Is it (a)the depreciated price of the bike or (b) is it the cost of getting a bike of the same model and similar condition?

Anyone who knows care to share?

If you can't afford to pay your insurance up front. Then don't get a bike.
