Does it means that DMA is safer?

since those that are not DMA might have some hidden agenda or motive.

seems like UOB kay hian charges 0.275% compared to DBS vickers 0.28%

DMA is faster to hit the market for sure.. but safer or what agenda... i do not know..

unless you buy in the hundreds of thousands, point zero something comms difference wont mean anything. consider other thibgs when choosing broker. eg, someone you know, better systems, quicker execution, etc...

Please note. CMC and IG are using CFDs. You're not buying shares. There's significantly more risk involved.

Like what throttle say. The difference in commission is so low. It's only a matter of a few dollars. More importantly, it's best to see which companie's system u're comfortable with.

Why so insistent on not getting a broker?

I believe STI looks good to extend its gains well into early next year.

As long as the market doesnt pile up, the gains at this pace, i find is acceptable and healthy. but dont take it from me becos i have pretty huge stake in the market.

heh heh

Hi,

Anyone familiar with the "Trade Summary" function on Kim Eng- and UOB Kay Hian's online brokerage platforms?

1) There's "bid volume" and there's "ask volume".

What is "mid volume (aka bundled trades / married trades)??

2) For every buyer of 1 share, there must be a seller who sold him that share. So since the bid and ask volumes are never equal, does this imply that "brokerages / financial institutions" are the counter-parties for the unexplained bid-ask volume difference?

I've never used these trading systems before but traded volumes are differnt from

bid -ask volumes (sizes).

bid size represent the volume of buyers at the particular price and ask size represents the volume of sellers at the particular price. it is a simple indication of how much demand versus supply at those particular price.

traded volumes are different. They represent the liquidity on the counter vis avis others on the capitalisation shares-out basis. in other words, a highly traded counter will have high traded volumes and it shows the interest of the market in trading that counter.

some counters have very low volumes and that is generally not good for speculators or short time investors.

good luck
