hey guys, i'm looking into entering the market now.

been doing virtual trading and book reading for most of the 2 years beforehand.

its time to do it for real.

1st question i like to ask is if anyone uses optionsxpress or etrade rather than standard uob, dbs accounts?

any difference it makes?

Bro are you looking at trading for short term like day trading/week or month trading? Or actually looking at making money from the markets in the long term?

I had started of with day trading back in 2005 and then lost a lot of money and now investing only in Unit Trusts.

Please understand that paper trading can never simulate real trading because its not real money involved and with real money come emotions; greed and fear that could make you take hasty decisions.

Haha, but dont let the above discourage you. You should still try and do some trades with small amounts and see how it goes.

All the best :thumb:

Hello Guys,

Anyone here invests in Unit trusts? I just opened an account with FundSupermart, but yet to actually make any investment. I have made lots of investments in Indian Unit trusts directly, as I am from India and living in Singapore for the last 2 years. Now want to diversify into other markets. What do you guys think? Fundsupermart reccomends Taiwan as top pick followed by Hong Kong, China and S Korea.

Cheers!

Revhappy

and did they say why their top pick is taiwan?

Here's their research article about Taiwan:

BTW, today all markets down due to Eurozone debt crisis. Why does the same thing come back again and again and affect all markets? :faint:

share your thought? instead of making people guess.

Probably not. If it's here, it would come sudden and fast just like an earthquake. Not those predictable doomsday May 21 ****.

@ Enjoy, Geee... Your general statement is really helpful.

@ Revhappy, why not look at India Equities. The capital returns are stil quite solid. BRIC might be old news but I still think it's relevant.

@ Throttle, Your GPMG has a belt of bullets. We small guns only have a handful of rounds.. How to buy nonstop?

I am already invested fully into indian equities. But it is the least favorite for institutional investors, at the moment, along with indonesian equities due to inflationary pressures. Hence looking to diversify.
