thank you AH PEK bro!! :) i ask cuz most of the time i go JB top-up pertol. and my basic riding everyday is from jurong west to NP (clementi) and back. (40km maz per trip i think) should last me how many days arh the petrol? the everything is stock i think. btw bro, also how to noe when coolant is low? got any indicator light or is there a method to check the coolant?

Take your average full tank to reserve readings and divide by 40km..that tells you how much it roughly last. Don't forget everyday trafiic situation is different for that 40km you traveled and nothing is ever "consistent".

Do not direct questions to me by indicating my name> this is a forum and there are ppl here to help and share with each other. There are other user here who has the experience and knowledge too that can help you. I do the best i can to help when there is no answer. Learn to say thank you to each other that bother to take the time toanswer your questions too.

wanna seek your opinion on using OWS iridium plugs on a PB1. oso, NGK plug No. 9 is standard plug or iridium ones?

pls stick with NGK or DENSO.

 

tired to repeat the scary stories of needing to overhaul the engine cos some part of the spark plug melted and fell into the engine. go search for my older posts in this thread if u really wanna find out :p

Hi Ah Pek,

 

remember about my coolant pump.. I think it's working fine.. Cos i was monitoring my coolant every day and i found something.. B4 i ride, the reservior was near empty.. But then after i ride from orchard back home about 18km and the engine was hot. I open up the reservior tank (with gloves, cos hot), i saw that the water level was nearing the top but slowly going down after leaving the bike to cool down. *I have nv gotten the overflow prob for the past 2 weeks* In the end, the water went down to the normal line after about 10 mins. I will check the reservior again in the morning when the bike is totally cooled to see if it will become empty. This is funny..

 

Oh ya btw, i noticed the water inside is light brown *rust* but there is a layer of water on top which is clear.. I used something to test the water. I thought the coolant should be green but then shouldn't have the distinct difference right? Hmm... Nvm i'll test it again..

 

Btw when the engine is super hot, i've noticed that the radiator fan will nv come on. I wanna ask if i wanna install a radiator fan switch how much will you charge me? lol.

water should expand when heated, dats why never top up your coolant reservoir above the "high" level.

 

once u see ur coolant turns brown, better flush and change coolant liao. best is to do it once a year or when u see the coolant changes color.

 

unless u are caught in a terrible jam, the fan shouldnt on so easily one. but better check with your mech. other than the fan switch, you can mod the fan to come on earlier at 80 degrees, so it keeps the engine cooler. might also be the thermostat faulty.

Thank you AH PEK bro!! btw way, juz to let you noe, i called my bike shop juz now to actually ask for the version of the bike. The uncle told me that it's "version R" with model:"CB400F2S" but this model of version R come with a fuel guage. Pls Ah PEK bro and the other Super4 bros if you could just double check the info and let me know it would be great..(scared kanna cheated by bike shop cuz alot of them talk ppl) :) and what is the average price of a super4 battery and any specs for the battery pls advice me too. THANK YOU!!

No lah I'm using yoshimura end can.

yes same lor use up the main tank until bike jerk then use reserve.

420km depends on riding style sometimes 390km, the max i reach is 420km on the main tank b4 switching to reserve. i ride 110km/hr~120km/hr only.

 

and any bro can share how does the oil light indicator works? its the light at the RPM gauge. usually it's lit up when you turn your ignition on and goes off when you crank your bike.

 

Where can i get this diax? and how much?

The flickering..am just guessing..may be some loose bulb's socket loose connection issue caused by vibration at that speed.

 

Rectifier...all same same.

This should confirmed that your pump and thermostat is actually ok. Good job monitoring the situation on a daily basis..u really got patient!

 

Ok..my thinking now is that your radiator is clogged with rust and now they are being diffuse loose after your previous and its causing temporary and partial clogs and is moving around..that's why yor new coolant is becoming green.

 

Not sure about your hoses..may need some scrubbing off the rust deposit internally. May be a good rinse again should do the job.

 

Your fan not cutting on...could be radiator fan switch faulty..have to ground it to checxk. As for switch..I usally do double and one for headlamp and the other for teh extractor fan. Check with Ashrobo..she just installed it last week.

wah lao today is a super bad day. kenna stop by tp. kenna tinted visor , kenna summon for illegal parking.. the tp talk c*** with me some more.. say my bike sound nice.. ask me buy how much.. den fine me.. f****** b***h

so far i lucky never kena stop by tp before. but parking summon part of riding/driving...somehow we always think that to save on the cents of putting parking coupon kena dollars in saman...

 

not preaching but i also same..sometime lazy to put coupon...

 

btw how much the fine for the exhaust?

 

and just to ask a really noob question.

 

my headlight just blow...where to find the headlight for my beloved s4 ver s?

 

do all super 4 use the same kind of headlight and can i change the headlight cover to those clear one like on spec 3?

fine for exhaust is $500. super boh hua

 

bulb can get from LAB, or any car accessory dept in any dept store. if nothing had been mod b4 should be H4.

 

non vtech models' headlights are full metal. the vtech models' back cover is black plastic.

i dun think just sell cover nia, need to get the whole set. about $80 at LAB if i not wrong but heard from ppl will melt if u use highbeam for prolong period. forgot wads the price for original one liao. should be in the 200+ to 300+ range.

hanx, i also kena push my bike upslope. my bike stalled at a t junction. haha then i turn and remained in the first lane while pushing my bike. wah i was like jogging with the bike. lucky wearing helmet if not like paiseh..haha

Its a warning that your eo level is low. Diax is a Japanese made coolant for tropical use. It's available at NTUC Hub or NTUC Festive Mall ($7.50)...also in most Esso kiosk (cheaper by almost $2.00). Its concenytrated and have to be mixed with pure or distlled water also available at NTUC.

Like gwzc_mk2 gwzc_mk2 said, if your headlamp is not mod..it should be using H4 (haelogen bulb).."4" I think is the 3 pin arrangement format. Don't kae_kian get the 90/100w one, get the usual 55/65W. Don't buy from bike shop..mostly make in China and don't last. Get from NTUC Hub..go for Philips more (30% bright)..$10 only. If you can afford "OSRAM" brand from Germany, its brighter but I find slightly only..have to buy in pairs at $40-$42 call "Sliver Star".

Have to see your bike to verify lah.

 

Original Yusa dry cell from Japan is $180-$210. No acid electrolytes to do yourself..come ready to use. Model YTZ10/12? (10AH)..last a solid long 3.5 to 4 years and have more stable current output and better recharge holding.

 

The usual ones is at $75..from China or Thailand..last about a year to 1.5 years. Stable the first 6 months, after that if magnet coil is weak..battery oso like bo-Chiak-pern like taht. Spec3 - YT7..non Vtec - YT9..both 9AH (current charging rate).

That's what I understand but myself have not use that. Go NTUC Hub or and NTUC or supermarket outlet..its about 60 - 80 cents for a 1.5 litres.

Yupz i guess it's working fine now.. Cos today i was busy going to my client's place. Home -> Bedok reservoir -> Sim lim tower -> sengkang -> sambawang -> CCK ->bukit timah -> home = more then 100km TODAY!! in the super power pack hot sun...

 

The bike was super duper hot *of cuz after travelling avg or 20km per trip* + the weather. After that i checked the coolant again, it was light brown but still can see slight green. The coolant was high when reached home but after cool down it became normal. I think like what you said the coolant got stucked some where in the pipes.

 

But i think I'll confirm going to install the switches to the light + radiator fan cos I'm working as an outdoor personnel so travel a lot then hope the bike can be cooler. Not like today, i feel like my ball going to get cooked.

 

P.S. Guys drink more water and don't get dehydrated. I almost knock out today juz traveling around in the super hot sun.. But 100+km.. :cry: I dunno how pple go touring man.. My back hurts..
