All bikes have to have a oil filter...just different in design and method mounth. When you see abike that do not have a oil filetr like ur S4..it does not mean that it don't have..its internally seated and covered with a giant bolt.:sian:

LOL! Wah don't like that say leh. i also shock sia! i've been riding w/o air filter! moral of story. don't trust certain bike shop so much. check your bike and know your stuff. hmmm so to say air filter and oil filter the same thing?

Air and Oil filter both different things and of different purpose and usage. Air filter is located under your tank. Oil filter is located below your front chassis, right below your header area.

The bike can run without oil filter? Won't the engine oil spill out from the "oil filter hole"?

Don't worry bro. Like me last time when I got my S4, I only know how to ride it but not a single knowledge on maintaining it (except for the basic servicing). Slowly you'll learn and learn. Go for regular meet ups and share infos with them. :cheeky: Best if you could go down Ah Pek's place. But remember must buy Kopi-O first... ; )

Must think careful , will you going to upgrade to class 2?

if you like look new and stock round headlight, tail should be spec 3.

will be staying with class 2A. Class 2 cannot afford :(

Spec 3 or Ver S, tht all depends on what you want bro. Spec 3 newer and got vtec, Ver S old model so COE might be expiring in a few years for most bikes.

What I will recommend is, go see both the bikes. Looks, condition (Just because spec 3 new does not mean it will be in a gd condition)

Btw when you say you want the bike to look new means, like just out of shop new or new model new?

That is why i am checking out the price between Ver S and Spec 3 now so i can compare. Still got sometime before i can ride a 2A.

Like just out of the shop. model old nvm, look clean and new can le :)

Beside waht Blazeman and Metal_Heart mentioned..like to add that its not a question of good choice to get a ver s rather than a spec 3 bekuz it's cheaper. There is a Vers S that was almost sold for $5.2k.

Each got their own design advantage..vtec or not. Vtec was design to have better fc but its not the case. Have known of 2 vtec 3 that's only 3 years plus and fc is at 16km/ltr.

The gees of it is that just get a good bike be it Vtec or non..the condition is good and meet ur budget.:sian:

Yeah, if can afford, i will want a Spec 3, of course the condition of the bike is still important. Thanks.

If you are having thse 3 point so call crash bar..expect more trouble. The fact that 3 points crash bar are mounted using the engine mounting bolt and the tenancy of a more immense jolt is experience and inturn can really shake things up and damage components inside the carbs and others. By right, all crash bar should make use of the four mounting points provides at the fron't chassis..one set each side. Whoever wanted a 3 points crash bar doesn't know what is good..:sian:

If your bike don't start or whatever..you know why now..probably ur carbs's flaot pin or jet needle may be damage.

Not sure about Phantom but like XR200 and other smaller cc bikes..almost all of them got oil filter taht is made of a metal net bucket looking like thing inside the lower crankcase and it comes out when the drain bolt is taken out for draining engine oil. If the mech borthers..he would inspect the net bucket like mesh eo filter for dirty metal residues.:sian:

This type of eo filter never need to change one and if ever you do, either the mech sabo u or it dropped into the dirty oil pan.
