Ver R has a "Sai-Tao"..no fuel gauge but a temperature gausge and thus no connector under the fuel tank. Meter oso different in the sense of internal lay out for the rpm meter.

 

Engine, gear ratio etc..all same same and I HEARD (not that I very sure but did test) that teh power cut-off adopted is different from that of the Ver "S". Wheather the CDI pin configuraton is the same or not, I'm not sure but it is somewhat power cut-off related. In short, if you have a nmeter that of a Ver S on a Ver R or vice versa..modifying the power cut-off won't work..has something to do with the CDI and carbs sensor unit.:sian:

hey guys. just had a change of tyres just now. i wanted bt090, 110 front and 140 back ... but apparently they didnt have size for the back, so they told me they were having a promotion for michelin pilot power. however i was aware that pilot power was only available in 120 front and 160 back smallest. i told the fella i'm riding a version s .... the widest i've heard anyone put at the back was 150 but he insisted that this one can fit fine and after some debating i agreed.

 

upon installation i inspected that the gap between the chainguard and tyre was quite a narrow margin, so was the gap between the tyre and the chain. i became quite skeptical but the boss keep insisting that it was fine. so i rode back home and paid real close attention to any sounds or noises. i couldnt hear anything out of the ordinary but i could sometimes feel little vibrations coming from the rear of my bike. i am not sure whether its my imagination or not.

 

anyone here installed 160 at the back before? please advise =)

wah bro issit UM? Its like putting excess EO on ur engine....

ah pek , after tis round of e.o change hor......my 1st gear reali loud when engaged....reali piak....ahahah, n after i change back stock pipe the vibration on my handles becum more......wierd leh....yoshi wun like tat leh....isit because stock alot of restriction??

nope. its at yishun industrial. um i tried going there but they didnt have bt090 the size i wanted thats why i went back to yishun industrial, more convenient for me uh. excess eo? i dont think i know the adverse effects of that. my ver s has only been with me for 2 weeks. haha.

Huh?..what u mean by really loud and only first gear? Moving or when change into it?..only first gear?..one time or everytime? Changing eo has nothing to do with your gear shifting sound wise. Your bike is getting older evrydaya nd nothing stays the same. Have your clutch setting check. Krucj=king sound when changing gears are a very common issue.

 

Vibration?...your exhaust mounted propely or not..tight or not..correct mounting bracket use or not? Who did it for you?

the pipe change i kaki lai de........i better double check on it again....not when moving, when warming up or at traffic light, step down 1 it will piak.normal rite?cause the previous time dun hve mah.ahahah.1 more tink my voltmeter also spoil liao like urs....brg over to the batt connect straight, the metter reali max at 12.4 ahahaha.

Not recommended, will cause uneven wear and tear, 160 back for vtec is fine, for non-vtec 140 is best.

hmmm....wat r the roots of cause for avibrating handle bar which numbs ur hand...i noe of 1, i got wind shield .after i install my windshield the handle got reali vibrant , lol then i instal2 balancer . n it settle my problem.for now....hmm pipe nt fixed properly??loose??i haven check yet.will do it 2morow , but guys anymore tinks, so i can chek it out 2morow also??

haha. abused? isnt there a way that the pipe can be repaired? i've heard of titanium/stainless steel pipes being repaired somewhere. maybe i can go over to your area and take a look? =)

yeah. that was what i was thinking as well. i initially wanted bt090 140 ... but the shop said no size. all the few places i visited didnt have stock. then somehow i think i *****-ly gave in to their persuasion tactics to get the michelin pilot power uh, being i heard good reviews on them and all. mind explaining abit further regarding uneven wear and tear ? =)

steering cone and wheel bearing cause vibration on the handle bar ? put a heavy balancer and a good grip should help

hi guys.. my bike need to send for inspection soon.. so i have a quick question to ask.. my ver r i change the stock "square head light" to the "transformer/ alien" kind.. can see my signature for better example.. So my question is.. can i pass inspection? or have to change back to the square head lights.. any bros have tried go inspection without their stock head lights??

mind explaining abit further regarding uneven wear and tear ? =)

 

After riding for awhile, on a 160 tyre on a non-vtec. the centre part of the tyre will be worn out more then the sides. So it might not be a smooth rounded shape. You can always test it out see how it goes :angel:

if u didnt brought the rider on the pic = u fail.

on a serious note, im not too sure but i think it's illegal. best if u have too many 'mod's ask shop to do inspection.

Hi all,

 

Yest while riding, i was cruising around 100km/h.. i open throttle abit more to try to hit 110km... then suddenly bike became jerky.. n speed drop to 80km/h then bike stalled along expressway. signal left stop at road side, try to start but cannot. Turn off engine, switch to reserve.. tinkin out of petrol as i had travelled 320km.. tried to start, can feel it refuse to start up.. finally start with throttle turning.. bike came alive and i rode off. Later went to petrol station top up..shake shake can feel got some petrol inside. only top up 13liters. perviously i topped up full tank and most of the time i would hit 340km or 350km then reserve tank.

 

Only reason i could tink of that will stall while riding is out of petrol, which is not the case. Other reason is that i had v-power and 95 mixed in the fuel. The other thing i suspect is either batt power low, or spark plug prob. My friend suspects it the carb. I hope its just a case of petrol running out as V-power runs out faster rite? somemore its Johor fuel. It still doesnt explain why the bike will stall. Lose power gradually if running out of petrol i have encounter before, and there will be some time to switch to reserve tank. but this time it lost power and stalled almost immediately.

 

I hope this issue doesnt happen again. =/

My opinion, it has nothing to do with your petrol. That's all I know.. Hehehehe...

my front brake feel very spongy . what cause it ?

 

did you take out your brake calipers or hose recently? as from what i know the solution would be to bleed the brakes =)

hahahaha!! thanks man.. but i was thinkin go though bike shop will hav to pay 30 bucks rite? but hav to bring along my stock lights to them anot aR?? or is it they got a "way" to make things pass even though not legal? hahaha! any bros hav such experience care to share pls?? btw guys.. one last ques.. my back tyre pretty worn.. any cheap and reliable brand n size u guys would recomend? only plan to change the back.. cuz front using battlex 110-70 not more than 3 mnths..

hi arun bro.. got yr pm.. i tried replyin but cnt seem to send u cuz they said u cnt recieve pm or something.. so bro.. wat i wated to ask is.. my using yellow normal lights..no white or HID stuff.. got 2 lights.. left one always on.. right one use for high beam, usually off.. u think should be prob? that tym yr u bring go inspection yrself oso isit?

u just have to bring your bike to the bike shop and they do the necessary to pass your bike's inspection.

 

Dont have to bring your stock items. Usually riders would send down to shop if there far too many mods that are not really legal. wahahaha.

 

beside if you fix your stock headlight and back to the current one, might cost a few bucks? might as well send to shop and add a few bucks, just my view. :cheers:
