No worry bro...could be a loosen circlip..if not...just loosen the circlips that is hold the hose..then spray wd40 or some lubricant on the edge lip to loosen the rubber hose grip (tend to get hard and 'fuse' to the metal pipe). Then slowy pull and gently shake it off (careful in case the metal tube is rusted thin..can break). Check the rubber hose if its harden and cracked or split. If its not..it could be a case of just the circlip being loose. If the hose is damage..just change that piece.

Another alternative is to cut off the damage part but b4 that, check if the hose is long enough. If not, you can also get any radiator hose with its external diameter samller than that of the original but the new hose must fit the radiator metal nozzle. This are available from auto spare shop sold in any cut length you need. Use lube (Wd40..oil etc) on the rubber hose edge area to help slip and push hose into each other.

Good luck and a HAPPY ND Holiday to all here.

ohhh, yeah i was thinking if the circlip was loosen as well. hopefully it is this case and not a leakage from the hose itself.

i noticed that, at the end of the stainless steel L metal thingy(the part whereby it feeds the coolant into the engine block), there's some liquid form coolant at that part as well.

or maybe it's the leaking coolant from the top, that drips onto the bottom stainless steel? is it likely this case but it was in liquid form and not dried up form though.

the stainless steel pipe couldn't be leaking right? or the connection from the end of the stainless steel L pipe into the engine block has hole? :faint:

 have a happy national day everyone

kifakw

Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car

and oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car.

Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall,

torque is how far you take the wall with you.

Oic...in this case..its the rubber seal that is crack and broken liao (where the "L" piece meets the engine block water jacket). The seal is only a few cents to dollars. Just remove the size 10 or 8 nut near the L tube mounting tot he block and korak out the old seal. This si quite a common fault.

Btw..that tube is not really stainless steel (me think its just a metal tube with external chroming)..it does rust and rod from inside out if tap water is used in the coolant before. It does puncture under pressure if thin out by rust. It's jsut a few $$s if you can DIY..very simple. You get to loose some coolant. Just top up can liao.

i see, thanks for the advise.

i'll head down to Ubi to change it, i'm scare of screwing up the coolant system.

most probably the whole coolant system is rusting from the inside out already, it's a 2nd hand machine and i dont think the previous owner'd have taken care of it so meticulously, unless he's a DIY-er like you, ah pek.

any special tips, to check every now and then for leakage from engine block itself?

thanks. :thumb:

When it comes to rust...just don't ever use tap water and safest is never let motoiam do it unless u know for sure the water they are using is "distilled" or "deionised" water and never stay out of sight while they are doing. Sometime..coolant not enough..its a "just add water" thingy. To assure yourself..best is to get premixed coolant from kiosk and DIY.

Many ppl have change hoses, pump..etc..thinku=ing that it helps for a rusted coolant contaminated system. This won't help as the rust is generated from the raidtor itself. I have help some ppl with change of new radiator and never to use tap water for premix again..there will neve rbe rust and no worries for the next at least 5-10yrs. If the old thermostat is bad as in affected by rust..best that it be remove or replace.

Leaks are normally caused by such and the other minor thing is the overtighting of circlips (cuts the rubber). Once your system runs cool..one need not to worry about rubber hose getting crack or harden which is usually caused by heat, rust and lack of external surface maintenance (use a cloth with "Singer" light oil and wipe the rubber hose surface to keep it nibble). Nothing last forever but if the abve approach is practice which takes some sel discipline..it does prolong reliability.

Dear all. I have received a very polite message from the management here that providence of products or services is not allowed in the forum and is considered a commercial activities.

With respect to the rules and guidelines for the use of the forum and as such, please refrain from messaging me for cost qoutation for items and services that I help provide.

As of this message, most of you who had met me for advise, help and other matter knows that this is not a career or profession of mine but that I do whatever I can to help in my spare and available time.

In future please direct all post and question regarding your bike problem here and I'll help as much as I can. Do not pm me individually your bike problem (which I had received a lot) but do it openly here so that others benifit from it too.

As for those who had and have use my eo and recommended stuff before..

as per advise, hopefully someday I can manage or provide my services through proper channel to do so as in the Products Mass Ordering section or advertiser Board.

So guys..thanks for all the confidence in me for the services that I have provided you in the past. In the meantime, I shall see how I can continue to provide my services and recommended goods with respect to the guidelines, rules and policies of this forum. Any suggestion from you guys are welcome but note that I'm not into business in this line..but just helping out from chop_chop and what's good for the maintenance of your bike.

bRos...if take out fuel tank...fuel knob is on..petrol leak means **** pit or the thing called diaphragm spoil ah?

Yes...have to be replaced. Can get either the kit set or replace the whole unit (better). If yours in non Vtec..can live with it by switching to "Off" osition each time you take off the tank.
