anyone has experience of a leaking cdi? as in leaking fluid?

It's normal for an old bike..just the epoxy degrading over the years and melted due to circuitboard heat generate. Can leave it as it is but if you wanna melt latex and pour in..u can. It's just for electronic components and circuitboard copying protection.

hmmm, sorry for the newbie question though, but how does a healthy front fork look like? or does it means my fork is bad with the oil/looking wet symptom? and erm, what will happen if its leaking?

thanks in advance.

If its very wet with fork oil all over the the lower stanchion tube (the chrome like metal tube) just above the black cover fork seal..the seal is leaking. Need to replace. If the the stanchion tube is very mildy moist or very shiny..its ok. A healthy fork is one that has no "Wetness" over the fork seal and just where the stanchion tube and fork seal meet and midly "stiff" after about a 2 inches sag

hi ah pek, thx alot for the advice.

can double check with you, the epoxy you were saying is the assembly cover for the cdi or its the attachment of the whole assembly to the bike?

No..the CDI unit can be detach after unbolting a size 10 bolt and after unplugging its' connector. The casing is a likely a heat resistant plastic casing where the circuitboard sits in and expoxy (melted form) poured in. The melted expoxy looks like thicken sticky honey. Whatever you do, the CDI can be use like that..it's works even cooler :0) Mine has been like dat for the past 7 years liao.

If u r thinking that the stumpy looking thing that sticks out at your left side of ur radiator with a wire, that's is not a thermostat..that's a thermal switch. The thermostat is a valve gate regulator inside a housing on the left hand side under the tank with coolant hoses hub to it.

It will be at max of 150% of your road tax depending on the age of your bike. Try using the road tax calcuator at lta website.

So what does a thermal switch does ?

"Thermal"..heat related..when the coolant temp rises, the two contact gets closer till it is "On" (contact).

Anyone experience the same as my version S? When riding straight road at low speed (10-20km/hr) the handlebar will vibrate a lot but when riding at at higher speed, no problem at all.

Steering cone problem?

Wheel bearings problem?

Other problem ?

Anyone can help?
