Yes, you are right. Singapore is a super four haven.

 

We usually get our parts from 2 places :

Lim Ah Boy (its at Kelantan Lane) - its for 3rd party parts

FJT (its along Rowell Road) - this is for original parts for all Honda bikes

All major bike workshops will have parts for super fours, as well.

How to get my keys out of the seat compartment of my motor cycle ? Any suggestion to solve the problem guys ?? apart from breaking the seat, calling a locksmith.. or shooting me in the head ( which would arguably nip the problem at its butt ) ..

I might have an issue with my bike. The engine oil seems to be leaking from the sump. When I put the bike on the side stand , after sometime i will see a very small pool of oil. I suspect it should be coming from the drainhole. From the outside, the oil seems to be dripping from near the side stand pivot/spring. Could it just be the drain hole plug ? If so, how much is the damage to change the plug. Just change my oil some more.

I had this problem before but solved after changed gear oil seal.

Try check your gear oil seal. Or maybe you put too much chain lube?

Yes..likely it's the shaft oil seal that's worn out or too much oiling of chain oil if u did recently. As for the oil sump drain bolt..could be if u just changed eo a day or so due to overtightening and the sump cracked.

Oh boy! I'm running on 120 front and 140 rear on my ver S. What's the implication of such oversized front cos personally I didn't feel any difference? Or maybe I'm just not gutsy enuff on hard cornerings.

 

Regardless, care to share the detrimental effect of such tyre settings?

 

Don't think you can tell much when u get used to it. If air pressure for the front tyre is not enough for a 120 size..probably it be "front heavy" in steering..squeezing traffic underpower is a no..no!

Ah pek, is it weird to have 100 front 150 rear, I just realised after I pumped air in always thought I have 110 front. Ver s max front is 110 right?

 

Yes...very weird to hear that front is 100..never heard b4. As to ur other post changing to Continental tyres..doubt they have 110 and 140. Try to stay stock size..back 150 at mid life of tyre would have a lot of "flat" and does not 'talk' to the front when cornering..and oso lots of drag and expect worst fuel consumption.

Those mototiam that has more branches usually take stock more and prices varies from $220-$230 for Dunlope Arrow Max GT105. It's the stock tyres for all our non Vtec version and perform well and last longer than those low profile soft compound ones. Yes plse..stick to F 110/60 and B 140/60..has been tested tin Japan R&D and the best for our model.

yeahhh gotta second that... gt501 can last until 30k to 35k km mileage though..tts the best i got coz ride until can see white fibre...lol..gd for despatch riders or high mileage riders who like a gd cornering once in a while...

anyone can tell me if my IU is spoilt

1. is it possible to buy used IU n replace it then inform LTA abt the change?

2. repair it? If yes, where to repair?

3. How much for new IU?

Hi foccacia ,

You can drop by at vicom to check your IU.

I believe that you can buy 2nd hand IUs and install it on your machine.

I don't think you can "repair" an IU. Its the gahmen's property, lol. haven't heard of any motorshops repairing it.

A new set costs $152.80, if I'm not wrong.

My car dealer friend said LTA no longer allows used IU to b reuse but since he is car dealer, not bike dealer, I m hoping that he is wrong in this.

Trust me give a call to lta will give you better answers. It's not like calling into telco asking stocks for iPhone. They are much much faster.

There is an old uncle whose shop is along 219 sticker shop in Lavender.

You gotta head towards Balestier Rd direction.

You will see a small shop with some old bikes outside.

He is authorised to do repairs on faulty IUs btw. Cheers.

just went to that shop. they said IU can b repaired but some parts r untouchable as belongs to LTA. used IU from scrapped bikes can b reused if bike scrapped less than 6 months ago n have to produce scrap cert. he have used IU too, selling at $65 + $20 transfer fee + $10 servicing (optional). those who interested, i have attached his namecard
