The HH Pads play like 60%..and the hose 15%...in my humble opinion....

try pads first...EBC or Armstrong or equal...

Stick to EBC...I am using Armstrong and it is very noisy, especially when hot....good grip tho....

juz wan to share something wif u guys..i was involved in a minor accident wen a van on my right swerved into my lane to the left to enter a carpark some time back..so got my paintwork renewed.. den few wks ago, i park my bike at east coast. but b4 i park,i saw a group of small bikes hanging ard d area. wen i return 2 hrs later, my bike was drop on the ground!! seems like someone got on it,move a few steps forward(handlelock!) and drop my bike on d kerb. my right fairing is full of scratches.. F**k up! so my new paintwork gone again... dats twice in a row.

btw, i had d same cooling prob too.managed to resolve it due to faulty coolant cap. however, wen d fan is on..is it normal for the temp meter to rise slowly at idle or is d fan supposed to maintain d temp level midway?? thx guys.

Ouch ... That really hurts ! Side stand is one crap design that Busa inherent. By far the best is the Harley side stand, they have a tight lock on mechanism when you employ it. No matter how you push or pull, it will never let go.

Looking into it, maybe can do some mods and retrofit it.

Cooling system is one thing many overlook ... is important.

Here are some cooling mods can be done on the Busa;

01. Muzzy fan replaced

02. Dual fan using GSXR OEM fan assembly

03. Engine Ice (better than water wetter IMO)

04. Using Honda accord sensor for lower temp to activate fan

What I did is number 01 and 03, is good enough. If big bore than different story.

NA,

I did number 03 back in early '05. How to know whether it need to be changed?

Juz did number 01 last week. Luckily found one and only piece left at Motoworld. Cost abt SGD55.

Satisfactory result!! :thumb:

Coolen usually only concern about level drop after loaded in. At most is very minor different if thats happen. If drop too much and fast then that is not a good sign.

IMO, I flush my coolen every 20k to ensure my bike is healthy.

Muzzy fan for $55.00 is very reasonable. Fixing the fan is quite a headache. It seem so easy but the labor is instensive unless someone is doing full system exhaust change, flush coolen, remove pair valves and muzzy fan at same time, that will be perfect.

According to Guan Hoe mechanic the fan should keep the temperature within the Midle if white zone to just below the red zone.

Not sure if that is correct. Can someone else give an input on this?

woah ouch!! seriously i noe how u felt!!

When i 1st got my bike, 3 days into riding it, my bike fell due to a slop tat i wasn't aware of.. tat cost me abt $200 for repair n respray.

Early last year, I parked my bike at the carpark lot in front of my residence, the nxt morning, i found my bike lying on the floor like a baby dead whale.. thankfully, my sliders saved the day.. minor scratches suffered, tat's all.

Hmm, i received a call from a fren citing he had the same prob and thing was, he juz flushed his radiator. According to him, the mech told him to go back to top up his coolant after flushing as the lvl would decrease after a flush. He did tat and tat resolved his problem.

How old was ur bike when u discovered the coolant cap was faulty?

Posted

wad i observed is tat, sometimes when the temperature meter hits the middle mark, my fan automatically swtiches on. But whilst the fan is on, the temperature doesn't stay but rather, it still increases.

There have been instances where the temperature hits roughly abt 3/4. After the meter hits 1/2, fan comes on but goes off awhile later n doesn't come on again. This is quite puzzling for me.. Does any1 experience such a prob?

my best is 21.7 km/l wif full system and 22.2km/l on stock busa. cruising at 100-110km/h on highway. so clocking 400km on busa full tank shouldnt be a problem.. :goodluck:

the problem is i dont maintain at 100-110 km/h for long periods.. :help:

my god!! can u describe ur riding style?

how do u manage to get such mileage? My bike at most can give me 310km. At this mileage, the reserve light would have came on aldy.

But i do observed tat when i pump a full tank, i only get roughly abt 17+ litres / 18+ litres at most for a full tank.

Aint it suppose to be 21 litres for busas?

If tat's so, tat means i can get more but i juz didn't use the last 4 litres.

Same here when idling. But on my case keeps going up if idle for more than 15mins.

An other solution is to paint the red zone, white, then no problem going into red

It is. This is how much I pump when I first took over the bike from the shop. They told me "go straight to petrol kiosk".

I never bother with bike's consumption and I never check to be honest. No point monitoring it, if I get 200Km per tank or 400km per tank, I'll ride. Therefore why bother and stress up?

Abt the Muzzy fan, I managed to get Meng Tong to do it for me while changing the tyres. Luckily never kanna suan for last minute additional work :D
