Is it enough to be scriptural? Just because it is in the Bible does not always mean it is for our obedience. One must be dispensational in their theology and understanding of the Word of God. :thumb:

Discerning of the word bro, not dispensational. To discern is to distinguish, perceive, recognize, and its for one's (own" edification / growth). Never as an attempt to teach others or point out another's error.

To me, personally i think we will learn more when we share what we learn.

Tot the bible is useful for teaching ... 2 Tim 3:16

you may wish to post your tots on "discernment and judgement" here; so that one can read and discern what they believe is biblical or not.

if you read 2 Tim 3;16 carefully and the chapter that encompasses it, you will find that this verse has been taken out of context too many times. So much so many didnt see that they are actually being unintentionally 'self-righteous'. What about Hebrews 8:11 then or even Ezekiel 34 ?

We are to be shepherds when the Holy Spirit leads us, not when we 'think' we are to shepherd others. Yes it is good to share what we learn, then again it is a formula for you and by the leading of the Holy Spirit (if such is the case). Its good to share, but hold the comments or passing of judgment on others.

Is the passage Matt 25:1~13 directed to believers? Read on to find out

1"At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. 2Five of them were foolish and five were wise. 3The foolish ones took their lamps but did not take any oil with them. 4The wise, however, took oil in jars along with their lamps. 5The bridegroom was a long time in coming, and they all became drowsy and fell asleep.

6"At midnight the cry rang out: 'Here's the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!'

7"Then all the virgins woke up and trimmed their lamps. 8The foolish ones said to the wise, 'Give us some of your oil; our lamps are going out.'

9" 'No,' they replied, 'there may not be enough for both us and you. Instead, go to those who sell oil and buy some for yourselves.'

10"But while they were on their way to buy the oil, the bridegroom arrived. The virgins who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut.

11"Later the others also came. 'Sir! Sir!' they said. 'Open the door for us!'

12"But he replied, 'I tell you the truth, I don't know you.'

13"Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour.

5 wise represents God supernatural children, the Christians who have the oil (Holy Spirit) in them

5 foolish represent God natural children, the Jews who occasionally have the Holy Spirit comes on them.

Both the Christians and the Jews are waiting for the Messiah, but when Jesus comes back…..only His children who has the oil in them (Christians have their Holy Spirit in them) will be going to heaven then.

Hence, ALL Christians are going to heaven because of HIS oil (Jesus unlimited – Holy Spirit) that is in us.

The book of Matthew is directed to the Jews and you will not find this parable being mentioned in other gospels.

This is the major benefit of dispensationalism. God works different ways at different times. Before the flood, people were vegetarians, but that does not mean that I cannot eat meat today. Neither do I need to put myself under the dietary laws given to the Old Testament Jews. Dispensationalism shows me that these laws are not meant for me to obey. This allows the Bible student to see the spiritual and practical applications of these laws without being compelled to practice them. Dispensationalism brings a liberty from things like the law yet gives greater weight to the spiritual applications for today.

Dispensationalism takes God’s word literally. It solves many apparent contradictions. Dispensationalism answers many doctrinal heresies. If you understand dispensationalism you will not be caught up in many false doctrines. You will understand that much false doctrine comes from trying to obey scriptural commands that were given to people of another age but are not given to the New Testament believer.

Dispensationalism comprehends the Bible as a whole. :thumb:

So what does the Holy Spirit do ? Or when a Believer is anointed, is it base on our own understanding or perception Or its the Holy Spirit lead activity? To you the dispensation theory sits well with you, but it doesn't mean it is really the truth.

The Truth is Jesus saves, man fell and they can't help themselves. After man accept Jesus as their Saviour, the receive the Holy Spirit. When one is in Christ, they are a New Creation. And as a New Creation, one walks according to the leading of the Spirit. If He wants you to minister, He will lead you. If He wants you to teach another, He will guide you. Our job is to 'sit' and allow Him to use us.

Dispensation is men trying to explain God. When all we need to look to is what Jesus does and what the Bible says about Him.

Romans 11:29 For the gifts and the calling of God is irrevocable.

On the most basic level: It is reading a Bible passage and asking, "Am I in the group of people being spoken to here?" That is, "Is this passage speaking to Christians?" Most commonly, we are taught that the entire Bible is written to us. But that is not entirely correct. The whole Bible is written for us, for our learning, but not all of it is addressed to us.

For example: When God gave the law to the people of Israel through Moses in about 1500 BC, one of the laws was to do no work on the Sabbath. The Sabbath lasts from sundown on Friday to sundown on Saturday. When a man was found picking up sticks on the Sabbath in Numbers 15:32-36, God commanded the people of Israel to put him to death by stoning. Now does that mean if we see our neighbor mowing his grass on Saturday morning that he is committing a sin? Should we round up the whole neighborhood and kill him? Of course not. We must realize that the children of Israel were not Christians. We are not under the law of Moses like they were then. They lived in a different dispensation from us.

You may not think of yourself as a dispensationalist. The bottom line is that if you believe in an Old Covenant and a New Covenant then you are a dispensationalist

when the Holy Spirit leads you, its a prompting that you will experience and only you alone. God does not lead His children astray so with the peaceful urging you feel (and somehow you will have the boldness to do it), you will see a result that is more than positive. Its very much like your love for your wife. There is this 'feeling' that you get when you thought of her or see her that just 'surface within' from time to time. Its that mysterious yet can be felt without fully grasping it.

I believe the only way we can follow Christ is to follow Paul:

"For though you might have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet you do not have many fathers; for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel. Therefore I urge you, imitate me." (1 Corinthians 4:15-16)

When Jesus taught during his EARTHLY ministry he was teaching under the law program and was not teaching doctrine for the NEW MAN (Ephesians 2:15) who at that time were aliens without hope and strangers from the covenants of promise (Ephesians 2:12). No, Jesus was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel:

But He answered and said, “I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”" (Matthew 15:24)

Some teaches that there is only ONE Gospel, while the Bible disagrees:

"But contrariwise, when they saw that THE GOSPEL OF THE UNCIRCUMCISION was committed unto me, as THE GOSPEL OF THE CIRCUMCISION was unto Peter;" (Galatians 2:7)

"...a DISPENSATION of THE GOSPEL is committed unto me." (1 Corinthians 9:17)

Paul received a different Gospel than the twelve, and it is by this Gospel that we will be judged by:

"In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to MY GOSPEL." (Romans 2:16)

For those of us now who trust that Jesus died for ALL our sins (past present and future) and rose from the grave, we are in Christ and the "old things" (all 613 points of law, and Christ's earthly ministry) have passed away, and all things have become new, hence the dispensation of grace: "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new." (2 Corinthians 5:17)

We currently live in the DISPENSATION of GRACE, and before Jesus revealed it to Paul there was no such thing:

"if indeed you have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which was given to me for you" (Ephesians 3:2)

Paul was the first to receive this DISPENSATION of grace:

"However, for this reason I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show all longsuffering, as a pattern to those who are going to believe on Him for everlasting life.."

(1 Timothy 1:16)

Our marching orders are found only in the letters of Paul (Romans thru Philemon), and not in the Old or New Testaments.

Shalom
