guys i've been riding my kr for about 2 months plus now and have been using motul 300v 4T engine oil. but i recently read fron a thread that for 2 stroke bikes, dont use 4T engine oil but use gear oil instead. Anyone knows what's gear oil? please enlighten about this.

next, i want to ask, if 4T engine oil is ok for kr, is it better to use 10w40 or 15w50?

lastly, how often do i change engine oil? some say every month once, others say every 2000km. which is best?

5000km...oil change for a 2 stroker...but use a good 2 t..

using km to change is the prefered way..

if u do not ride 5000km in 6 motnhs..then u change oil every 6 months..

gear oil?? save your money on this..

i love my ezzyoiler

EO (Engine Oil) for KR or SP or TZM, Gear oil is "recommended" because they are the thickest mineral oil that you can find in the market, they protect your engine well, but.. you will not be able to ride "fast" and the diff is huge.. *pick up and etc.. Since you are using the best 4T at the moment, you can ask to change gear oil which is the lowest price and try for a day or a few days and see if you like it, i would say, 99% of the people dun really like it, because everything is not smooth.. lolx..

4T is definitely ok for KR so dun worry about it. :)

10w40 or 15w50 = the weight and thickness of the EO thus the "temperature" it's able to endure and the smoothness,

Lets say 10w40 = 10 (weight) and 40 (highest)

Anyway, hard to explain - see here for the full details.

http://www.wordiq.com/definition/Engine_oil#Properties_of_motor_oil

Lastly, recommended 2 months - MAX 3months, depending on the distance you travelled daily, we based on mon-fri, just in case.. change early better den change late right? :)

example = I travel estimated 50km daily, so I take 50 x 30 = 1500km

So If I forget to change this month, I still can change next month as it will be 3000km.. but of cuz.. I dun travel that much during weekend.. :)

Of cuz, if you are low on $$$, I'll recommend you to change to something lower grade and change monthly instead of using one good one for 6 months.. :)

yup yup... 2T is the most important for 2 stroke, because it uses this to lube our piston.. :)

lolx.. thanks bro.. :)

so you're saying the preferred mileage is every 3000km for an oil change?

in any case, using 10w40 or 15w50 wont harm my bike right?

lastly, is motul 710 2T considered a gd 2T?

haha sorry for asking so much. thanks!

bro.. based on my experience.. rear 100/80 = looks v.nice.. bike looks like jackup alot.. but thread eat v.fast.. corner feels stable.. but than again.. too high.. might not be sure as I dun really corner alot.. :)

110/70, corner until kanna fairing/ side stand.. no problem.. :)

some problems. my bike can feel like got a bump for every turn of the wheel. makes for a bumpy ride everytime. can feel at high speed but it's worse at low speed ah. one mechanic told me because old tyres, very common. but my tyres the threads still good. anyone with experience pls help. is it something wrong with my bearings, brake calipers, sprocket?

another thing, my bike used to go abt 220km per full tank. but recently, i travelled 166km since my last petrol top up and so far used up only about half tank which means at this rate, my full tank can go abt 320km?? not that im complaining la but should i be worried? i recently decarbonized my pipe. is it because of this that my bike is now more fuel efficient? dont think its my riding style coz i've been riding the same way all along.

lastly, im currently using a mixture of petrol esso(sg) green, esso(jb) F1 and shell(jb) vpower racing. will this harm my bike? pls enlighten. thanks

bro.. i break down in to 3 parts for you ok? :)

1) Bump.. - check threads since you mentioned mech say that.. and how long you have used the tyres? If more than 1.5~2 years, change it.. already harden no matter how much thread you left.. :) *bearings and brake disc might affect also..

2) from 220km to 320km - just decarbon only? I would suggest you to check for another one full tank and see? & do you rev above 7.5rpm? if no.. den high possible that you "valve" jam and stopping the "increase" speed thus the saving.. i used to have that mileage also.. before i know how to wack.. haha.. :)

3) mixture of all petrol is ok.. just remember to put a petrol filter to filter out any dirt from "going" into your carb.. :)

anyone encounter this problem:

there's a rattling sound from gear box. like the parts inside is loose...

open throttle to rev can hear that sound.

drop gear can hear that sound

engine brake feel might not be that strong as before.

Valve did open, rpm can go 11,000+, I don't think clutch got problem.

any idea what might have cause this problem?

gear box inside can spoilt what things?

bro.. gear box hard to know.. "sounds" can be caused by alot of factors.. example, kick starter, washers, side stand, pillion rest, foot rest.. and etc etc.. :)

anyway, i've answered your answer here also.. :)

Pm me your tel and where you stay so that can arrange meet up easier.. :)

desmond, my petrol consumption is still about 32km/l. i've been revving till 7-7.5. in terms of acceleration and picking up speed still the same as when it was 22km/l. AND i just serviced my valve early this month. anw is this a sign of a big prob for my bike? because of not then im

very happy with this kind of fuel efficiency. haha

anw since i got my bike 3 months ago i have this running problem with my headlight. the bulb keeps fusing. the first time bulb blow, i need to change the rectifier because it was badly burnt. second time, mech said might be my headlight. so i changed to a new headlight. then bulb blow again when raining. mech said rainwater seep in the headlight and cause the bulb to explode. bad workmanship of my new headlight. then now the bulb keeps going off, then ok again, then off again till like the cars in front of me think im playing with the lights. anyone with the same problem? i just wanna knw the cause of the problem so can settle once and for all. is it lousy bulb, rectifier, headlight, wiring, battery??

sorry for the long thread. my bike troublesome. haha. anw i agree this thread is awesome. ups

Bro, break up into parts again ya? Easier to see.. :p

1) from 22~32km, rev till 7.5... High possible they change your fuel jet to a smaller one.. it won't cause any much issues if you remain the same riding style.. It's definitely a good news! haha.. dun worry.. remain as it is good.. :)

2) headlight - fuse blow off = high possible of electric not enough grounding or some other stuff.. *have to check at bike shop..

*water? can u see water in the "headlight" after rain or wash bike session?

lastly, you stay in which area? if east, recommend you to go planet and check it out.. :)

but prepare to wait long for new riders.. lolx..

Wait long = no chop $$$

Fast fast settled = chop sharp sharp.. =P
