While I Be Damn, I intend to degrease and give a complete clean for my chain (I use to do it on my SP) I do agreed it take at least an hour or more but at least my chain is given a thorogh clean and last longer. Will give it a try.

So for my RS125, what would be the best method to lift up the rear wheels for me to lube?

Just to check, cause i heard from some others that i would have to degrease my chain and lube it quite often especially after a rain.?

Forget about having to push your bike to lube your chain.

hassle free method, no need to push to lube , 1 minute job

do it all by yourself,as and when you wish and need to,no need to ask for help.

PLS handle bar lock your bike before proceeding.

1) Get a piece of thick rag/cloth

2) Fold the cloth up

3) Squat behind the rear tyre/chain

4) As you squat, knees bent, align your knee below the exhaust

5) Insert the cloth between your knee and exhaust

6) One hand holding the chain lube , one hand ready to spin the tyre/rim

7) Get ready, using knee to apply upward force on exhaust to lift tyre of the ground

8) One hand spin tyre and one hand spray

1 man job , hassle free, do it in 1 min, "semi-professional method"

I have tried in on 2B bikes. Bikes possible to use this method to lube chain includes honda wave, 125Z, spark, sonic, TZM, KRR, SP, RXZ, RXK etc etc....

There maybe a possibility to do it on 2A bikes, super 4, CBR400, RVF, GSX400 etc

DO IT AT YOUR OWN RISK!

:thumb:

Bro,

Just something to think about.

You might want to be careful doing this. Don't think it's a good idea to put the entire weight of the bike on the exhaust clamps and the muffler bracket. It'll probably be stressing the joint where the mufflers and the downpipes meet.

Another idea is to get Seng Kwang to fabricate a main stand for your bike, then it'll solve the problem permanently.

1 man job for routine chain lubing? Pffft....that's easy.

With the sidestand on 1 side, I jack up one side of my swingarm near the wheel axle, all with the help of my hydraulic jack

http://i9.tinypic.com/52du0qb_th.jpg

Wheel gets lifted off from the ground by a few centimeters, spray lube onto the chain as I rotate the wheel. Then I use a soft-bristle brush to spread the lube evenly and to brush off any excess lube.

too bad cant do on a RVF!!

It's possible, but a car-jack's footprint is huge. Moreover, the RVF's darn heavy; fell on one side once when I jacked it up too high.

If you are using O rings kind of chain, you might want to be careful when using certain types of oil degreaser as it can damage the rings (or something like that). Can use kerosene to degrease though...

Correct me if my info is incorrect...cant remember exactly what I read last time...

Kerosene's less corrosive than petrol, but I'm not so sure whether it still will damage the O-rings over time...comments about this, anyone?
