A topic that has been argued to the death. But I'll entertain u since i'm free.

Bike shops will tell u 5k, well, most of them at least. Do not believe them because bike shops have a commercial agenda to make money out of u. Many forumers who post after me will say the same out of goodwill, or ignorance, or both.

The sensible advice is to follow your manual. For most class 2 bikes its 10k. For a super4, surprisingly, its 12k. Do not forget enginners wrote the specs. The distrubuters Hong Leong and Boon Siew etc adhere to them too.

There are of course "recreational EO changers" who love getting a little grease on their fingernails or feed a personal belief that they are treating the bike with respect etc, treating the bike well etc and a whole host of bull crap. You can join them. Or stick to your manual

And save a few bucks to be spent on other causes. Its your money, and hence, your call.

Just change when you hear a knocking sound from your engine.. When that happens i suggest you overhaul as well as you may need to change the bearing holding the con rod. It is much CHEAPER compared to changing EO once every 4 months..

Just kidding.. I suggest you read your own instruction manual given. That small booklet tells you more than what you need..
