the bus lane is not under certis cisco.. it is actually united premas..

& yes, some cisco is under URA & some for illegal parking..

& yes, cisco is now sort of like sub-contract with LTA..

therefore the "LTA Enforcement" vest they're wearing..

even if you park at grass verge, they can summon up to a 100bux..

& dun be suprise, the ones who fined you for illegal parking can also give you demerit points..

so better be safe than sorry yaw.. & remember, they're just doing their job.. *cheers*

i got summon last week outside lot 1 pavement. how to and where to park? most lots are full, shopping centres are getting non-biker friendly. we're becoming 2nd class ppl on the road already. was there barely for an hr to run some errands. i know they're doing their job, but i don't see how parking at pavement can be such a problem compared to cars parking bumper to bumper bottlenecking a 2 lane road during peak hours.

Thrash? Don't mind if i do.

certis cisco are the sub-contract for a lot of enforcement boards.

URA - Carparks division (on-street/off-street carpark, heavy vehicle parks, SSCs)

LTA - aka Traffic Warden (for parking only, inclusive of demerit points parking offences)

NEA - littering, smoking at non-smoking area, toilet checks

HSA - under-age smoking, etc

ODA - outdoor display enforcement

the auxiliary police who give parking fines are the ones attached to the LTA traffic wardens.

HDB carparks now under United Premas, Chubb, Wilson Parking (depends on area). bus-lane enforcement under United Premas.

so understand which company is working for which board.

once I parked my bike but I'm still sitting on my bike. A white certis cisco pickup with the Certis Cisco Aux Police just stops by on a double yellow line and one of them get out of the pickup. Not to issue fines but kinda those like go to shops pickup money. I'm still new mah so I kinda blur. Then I tried looking inside the pickup but cannot see. The pickup move forward abit then can see the driver actually writing something down. All this while I'm still siiting on my bike. I what I heard is true, if they want to issue you a\a fine, they saw you sitting in your bike, they'll ask you to remove it right? not just write you plate no. without you knowing and send them to TP/LTA...

I received a NOTICE OF A PARKING OFFENCE earlier yesterday (29/11/2011), too. Parked at the pavement outside Mount Elizabeth Hospital.

Not denying that I was in the wrong for "PARKING ON FOOTWAY OF ROAD"...but I did try to find a proper parking lot at the carpark. The main level is for "Authorised Vehicles" only, while the basement is jam-packed with motorbikes & clamp signs warning everywhere else.

Really do not mind paying for parking...but it is so difficult to find shopping centres in town that allow bikes to park for a fee even.

Anyway, just a reminder to fellow bikers to be extra mindful of proper parking in Orchard area.
