How abt maxima Extra + oil filter + OWS iridum ? Or Fuchs Silkolene Pro 4 Plus + oil filter + OWS iridum ?

Sorry, we are not carrying Maxima at the moment.

For Fuchs Silkolene Pro 4 Plus + oil filter + OWS iridium spark plugs, it will cost about $***.

Our recommendation is to take advantage of the $100 packageand that will consist of OWS iridium plugs + OWS fully synthetic engine oil + oil filter.

To me it depends, if got money and willing to change, why not. But if a good EO should be able to lasts. So don't worry about it.

if it's just 400km it shld be okay. but if it's further than that, say 1000-2000km then yea, u need to get the oil replaced

It is hydrocrack 'synthetic' (which is not a 100% full synthetic) if it is the same one that is packaged with the plugs. Should last about 3k.

A good oil will come back even smoother after extended high speed M'sia riding, a poor one will come back sounding very rough.

why the eo will become smoother after high speed riding? i thought high speed and city riding kill the eo and also heat contribute to the break down of eo. btw, i using maxima products too. just wan to know more on eo.

in sg, sound fast look fast is enough. run fast fine fast die fast.

In bikes, the most critical aspect of an EO is the shear resistance and antiwear protection. High speed riding generates alot of heat and puts alot of load in the transmission, both conditions accelerate the shear down of the oil.

A poor oil will have poor resistance to heat and shear down, becoming noticeably thinner. It is not uncommon at all for mediocre synthetics to drop a fully viscosity grade. Example, u put in 10W40, drain out 10W30 by 5000km. This thinning leads to shifting problems, but also bike specific. Some bikes do cope better with thin oils.

A good fully synthetic product (not just Maxima) will have excellent shear resistance, they will not change much in their viscosity in the 5000km interval.

However, city riding or just plain leaving the bike to sit for months usually introduce alot of moisture into the oil. City riding also introduces unburnt fuel into the oil from the minimal blowby that all engines will have. All this will change the 'smoothness' in an oil.

The high temp that kills poorer oils in high speed riding will help to purge the engine oil of moisture and unburnt fuel. The high quality EO doesn't mind the heat and retain the viscosity well, therefor you come back with a smoother bike. But with a good EO, it is important to get the viscosity right, or it will never shear down into your bike's viscosity 'sweet spot'.

Nowadays, thanks to the de-restriction of the term 'synthetic', there is a very big difference in what quality it actually is, buyer beware.
