take your time. Ask your self what are you looking for... comfort? handling? sheer power or a mix of them? How many years you want to ride? how much you willing to depreciate? Then make your decision.

If you have the chance try on different bike from frens (tats if they dunt mind lah  ). Have the feel of the diff makes and models.

Class 2 model are plenty to choose from. Take your time. Do not make haste decisions :cheeky:

well.. the 2 lines have their meaning.

too low, not enough to volume for lubrication. Vehicle might run a little hot. Too high, the engine oil escapes into the airbox via the return pipes. The is gonna stain/dirty/spoil your filter. Never follow exactly the manual spec. It is used as a reference. I found this out also when following the spec. I find that it is too much.

The only time it meets the spec is when my bike is not moved fo 1~2 weeks. Prob enough time for all oil to settle down? i monitored my oil changing style. Meaning how long I wait before i drain the oil, how much i put, how much it settles down after a few days and so on. Then i slowly top up to desired spec. Long process. I can share with you should you want to know more

just change my engine oil to fully sync today...

but after tat on the road something strange happen...

the low oil pressure signal light came on and the engine just die off while the bike is still moving...

anyone ever encounter such thing?

wats is the optimal oil pressure than?

I had also encounter this problem before.

Was using Castrol engine oil before and switched to Motul.

Was reaching my house, when the oil pressure light came on and the engine got cut off. Push into my carpark to check oil level but nothing was wrong.

Oil filter was a bit loose, so I tightened it again.

After that it was running fine for 4k km.

A little bit over the second line should not be a problem.

Check the oil window to see if the oil is foaming after a run, if it is foaming you need to get the extra oil out.

Some people open the drain nut/oil filter a little to drain off the oil. It might get dirty.

I use those aquarium tube to siphon those excess oil right from the crankcase opening itself. Might take a little while.

Bcos u once bought a whole carton of 4T for me and i delivered it to your place. :thumb:

I have actually pretty much decided and have already found an immaculate one, the only thing stopping me now is the financing since Mah Motor doesn't wanna finance the owner swapping procedures. They claim that the owner has to cash it out first, get hold of the log card, then find some other finance agent to break it down into installments for me. They don't wanna handle...o_O

Sitting on my hands... Must... Not... Rebutt...!! ARGH~!@

Time for a tyre change. My current BT014 are running bald. I know this is a good sport tyre but I am actually looking for something that last longer than 10k km. How about BT020? Does a set of those last 20k? heard somewhere that there is little diff in durabillity between 014 and 020. true?

Using my second pair of Metzeler Z6 now.

The first pair last more than 20k, front threads almost gone, but rear still strong.

Change it as there is serious cupping on the tires.

Good on dry, a bit slippy on wet especially rear.

I don't mind as I go for mileage.

Check out the tire reviews here

BT020 is also a very good tire alto it is not as sticky as the BT014 which I am using now. My experience with 020 is mostly positive except if you are too aggressive in the track. On mileage I get about 16000km before I wear it down to the wear indicator. This includes some track time. My current BT is about 8000km old and is still good for it guess 2000km (abt same as your expereince).

I might go back to BT020 for mileage if I get weary of track tho I like the BT014 much better.

although i am not riding the VFR but i am riding the CBR600F instead... i will recommend BT020 for sports touring as the tyre is good overall IMO... last long... good grip (although i dun feel very confident on wet roads) and the price range is in the middle zone... can consider lor

Thanks for the replies guys. I do like my current BT014 cos it has super good grip on dry. Just that life span is quite limited. Not really a track rider (yet) so might as well put tourer tyres. Think I will give the metzler a try. Where is a good place to get and what price roughly cos afraid they gonna charge ang moh prices.

reason i changed cause wanted to try enduro bikes n dun wan to keep 2 touring bikes. yah bt014 is a gd tire i also not veri confident with bt020 in the rain will slip on the white markers on the roads.

When I bought my 4 year old VFR800Fi in 2003 for $10,000, I didnt take into account the depreciation.

I just need a bike that has to meet this criteria:-

1) to tour Msia/Thailand once or twice a year.

2) transport to office or meeting clients, if my wife needs to use my car urgently.

3) to ride at the track about 6-8 times a year

4) cost around $10,000

5) looks good with side panniers

6) preferbaly a Honda, coz never owns one

7) comfortable to ride in city traffic.

The VFR seems to be the best choice. Its the best all-rounder bike. Nothing comes close.

I was also attracted back in oct 2002 when it was first launched. Took me 2 years to save up man !@#$

I am not able to suggest at the moment as I do not know your

1. budget

2. main type of riding

3. daily type of riding

4. amount willing to depreicate

I am not sure the reason why they sold their bikes. Probably They would like to try different bikes? (i would love to if i have more cash :sian: )
