check with u all huh...where do VFR 800 normaly install they IU unit huh?

If new bike, the seller usually install for you. If not you can install yourself.. pretty easy. Just need to tap to your batt and route to your desired location. Brackets can be custom made from sengkwang at AMK indus park 2 (abt $70). Or you can DIY it yourself.

Ttry no to use aluminium (yah its easy to bend n shape ..) as fatigue is usually the culprit to failure and eventually breakge = jam + steering lock and.. well you know the outcome :giddy: :giddy:

Erm I have a VFR erm unit for sale though  mounts onto your master cylinder braxcket(on the right).

For those who is interested in the NWS huggers, fyi NWS is bought over by Pryamid so I having problem communicating with them as they are not replying my emails oth Pryamid and NWS. Anyway, I got an email from Pryamid dealer in US and they are going to sell NWS huggers now. They will give me a pricelist by next week and from his emails, the shipping price is much more cheaper than from UK and also probably discounts. Will get back once I know more...

hey guys, currently im riding a blackbird. feel like changing to vrf lay... any comments or advice?

If you willing to read the 55 pages on this tread, there are lost of comments, experience, things to look out for on VFR800. Rides comments here might be bias as most of us ride or have ride the VFR for a long time. Personally, I have only rode the bike for a months plus and have yet to take a long trip on it but so far I am loving the ride.

Yes that's rite OTR is around the same price but recently bike production advertise 21.5k not sure its with ins or not. The box is seperate and cost around 1.8k from Mah, Boon Siew. Not sure if chiap lee the givi dealer sells them cos the box is made by givi. The pillion seat is comfortable but a bit far back from the rider so thatis the only complain it get.

Why don't you read through the 55 pages of information if you are really interested? :sian:

When I was looking for my VFR, I read through all the pages to answer my own Q&As. Look out for comments from HamsterZ, they are particularly informative.

roll back the threads.. there are break down of price of bike, panniers, accessories and so on.

Pillion is great. My fren rode my bike with me as a pillion to batuh pahat for dinner. not bad. 140~160ish not woories. the grab rails is a great item. the panniers make it even better. I pillion up to speeds of 240... alright.. just windy thats all.

For bike information.. check out on page 51

http://www.singaporebikes.com/forum/index....c=35957&st=1500

Panniers are not included. You can either order them thru

1. Boon Siew :giddy: :giddy: "you know what i mean eh?"

2. Mah motors (i got them for 1800 and 200 for the VFR saddle bags.. oh yah u need ot add GST)

3. Order them via http://www.davidsilverspares.co.uk/

Heat is actually not a big issue (for me) as bike always run about 75~85 on expressways. 85~95 on heavy traffic. 95~105 on jams. Somehow the heat does not get to the me, prob i have a "halter neck" on the tank. But take note the radiator heat might be felt while moving as the "wake" is just in front of ur sheen.

Generally its a greta bike to tour at the same time to gun the corners with confident "at sane speeds" If you are r pushing really hard, probably you might be on with the wrong class of bike as its suspension is gear towards comfort.

Squeezing is not much of an issue as its nimble as long as you are NOT at parking speeds. With panniers, you might need to be a tad more careful as the panniers are protruding slight ly more then ur mirrors.

Prob you can browse thru the pages 9yah i know its long) but erm i kinda lazy to dig my prev post out. You can find

1. bike price

2. mileage infor form various riders at different riding styles and traffic conditions, with w/o after market pipes

3. After market accessories reviews (windshield, huggers, suspensions, etcetc) and their prices

4. performance as stock or with upgraded kits

5. maintainence cost + where to get them

and so on...

Like wise.. you can drop me a ring should you need more info... Glad to know another viffer.

Oh yah. NO NEW VFR that is more that 800cc for 2006. Just cosmetic change (which in my personal opinion.. i think the 2002~2005 still looks better.. no offence to others)... basket make me wait so long in vain

Ok these are my 2 cents worth.. hope they help ....
