hi all i just enrolled 2a at ssdc online. is it still got to go down counter do eye test etc.?

can only start to book practical online.

what is the theory about? website say no booking required. means walk in for the theory anytime?

chose ssdc cos the TP date earlier. even though must complete practicals before booking TP i think still earlier than bbdc.

took my 2b at bbdc.

ssdc just need to wear their elbow pad / knee pad right? not like bbdc need long sleeve? and gloves?

only been to ssdc once 1yr+ ago for defensive riding sponsored by SAF so not very familiar with ssdc. dont remember how's the circuit already.

thanks.

Don't think there's an eye test when you sign up for 2a bro. Theory is basically the same stuff learned in 2b, yes walk in. ssdc requires you to wear gloves. Circuit wise, its just about getting familiar with it. Not that hard to remember.

All the best for your 2A!:thumb:

A day without riding, is a wasted day.

Hi people, I need some help for my 2A TP.

I don't currently ride a bike nor ever had one after my 2B due to parent's objection, so riding experience for myself has always been done under the learning centres.

Due to my lack of experience, I'm not a very good rider and simply not as smooth as how someone who has been riding a 2B bike for a year would be.

While I made it through the 2A lessons in SSDC relatively easily, I'm having a lot of problems with the TPs themselves, having failed twice already.

The thing that gets me worried is I usually make no mistakes and have 0 points in the obstacle courses themselves, but it is the wobbling/wide turning/sharp turning/poor posture that really bumps up the points.

I make conscious effort to be aware of these issues while riding but somehow I'm still being penalised for them when I think that my riding standard is acceptable to myself. Also, during my internal evaluation/lesson 3 of Class 2A, I was not faulted for these issues as well.

I do think that the smoothness of general riding comes from road experience as you are exposed to so many things which simply cannot be done within a circuit or short test route outside the centres.

Short of doing CR many times (I've already done around 10 but still failed TP =/), how am I going to improve myself to a level that is deemed competent by the TP-testers?

Thanks =)

Maybe you could spend one entire lesson just practicing your turning, clutch control and riding slowly. Wide turning usually occurs when your speed is too high, so try to master your clutch control.

Just keep trying. You can never do too many CRs. More is always better. I did more than 10 during my 2B days.

I too am waiting for 2A TP. Although I have a hobby bike, my main mode of transport is my car. I'm feeling the pain of inadequate practice too. The only way to improve is to master the clutch by going for more CRs.

It's also a lot harder to pass TP these days, with stricter criteria in place. All the best man!

Yea both my TP tests were single bike ones. The latest one last wednesday had basically half of those taking 2A fail. Most of the class 2 passed though.

I don't really know how to correct my mistakes because after TP when I checked with the tester he told me where the mistakes were made but what exactly is "sharp turn" or "wide turn"? On the bike I felt my turns were smooth and kept mostly to the centre line of the lane with the slow in, fast out lane principle so how would I be able to tell if I am under or oversteering? Hmm =/

hi, how long is the waiting time for TP usually?

Was around 1.5 months in Aug / Sep. Think it is much longer now.

How about slow in, medium speed out? the fast out could give u wide turning. Meaning ur bike did not maintain centre of the lane but instead u went nearer to the outer part of the lane when completing the turn.

Ok I'll be sure to try that for my next RC. I seem to be the reverse of most people, my general riding in circuit is really bad while not facing any serious problems with the obstacle courses, and it's actually quite demoralising come to think of it because it means I'm a naturally bad rider as a whole.

just ride naturally, have more confidence and you will ride the 2a bike well :thumb:

no need to be demoralised, i think you are too stressed over it and you think too much already.. when i took my cls 2a lesson last time i had some difficulties at first but i just relax and enjoy the 2a bike and in the end i made it

yea. my friend told me that things have changed.

I took my test and can now comfirm that now there is only 24 test takers. 6 class2, 18 class2A.

Now there are only 1 or 2 test bikes in the circuit at a time, meaning the testers have more focus on the test takers.

Thus the passing rate per test are not as high as last time. But luckily I passed this attempt
