Hey thanks a bunch for all the responses guys. Hope you all have a great get together and smoke on Wed. Hope to make it to one of those sometime.

One Q: Do you guys think Cigars in SG are overpriced, especially for stuff thats not top quality? I mean, a Macanudo Maduro decent size (its the Corono length but slightly thinner) sells for about S$20 at Oaks and it retails in the US at about USD6 (which is abt S$9). I know i enjoyed that cigar but i understand there is ALOT better out there from an aficionado's perspective. Does the price get jacked up bec of the taxes and import duties on tobacco or is there just also a BIG wholesale to retail margin slapped on, and if so, do you guys think the pricing here is fair?

pricing here is never fair Dude!

Taxes are $352 per kg!!!!

Of course due to the affluence of the society, profit margins are higher as well. In Jkt, imported cigars cost more than in Singapore...

My 2 fave spots to buy cigars, Spain and Switzerland.

Dubai is fabulous i've heard but never been there.

Whoa; 352 a kg is steep by any stds.

Good to know the tip abt Spain and Switzerland. As for Dubai, hmmmm...got some family there, so now i know what hints to drop in terms of christmas gifts.

I will not be available for a while for reasons which i do not want to post here. But for those who know, feel free to tell the rest by word of mouth.

I'll be planning one big one real soon.

Enjoy your smokes tomorrow, Fellas!

hey riki, welcome to the club!

for lighter smokes maybe u can try el rey del mundo choix supreme. a rather mild cigar, with a pleasant toastiness to it. sweet and floral, its still one of my favs until now.

Nightstalker bruddaman,

Am going to try and give your El Rey Del Mundo Choix Supreme recommendation a shot this weekend. Does Con D at UE Sq stock this or do you knoiw of any other places that stock it? I dont remember seeing it at Oaks which is the closest decent shop from where i work.

Thanks

had a splendid lusi last nite. too bad im down to my one last stick in my humidor. ckunjie, u'll be smoking like us in no time man. hahha... i used to think like tat too. but b4 i know it, doin 2 cigars per session became a norm for me.

riki-- if u had told me earlier i could have checked it out for u last nite. not sure if they have the stock there. maybe u can try callin them at 67337141?

anyway, if u cant find it there, u can always ask the salesman there to recommend u sth. they're pretty helpful.
