wanted to go down to conn d last nite for a smoke. unfortuntately it was closed. on a fri nite? tat's weird... anyone knows the reason why it was closed?

 

1st wk of july shd be a lull period for me. i shd be able to make it. how abt we head to timbre? its where the old 'fat frog' used to be. somewhere near the old national library area.

ConD is probably closed for some reno works in prep for 1 Jul?

hello there, this is my first post. i've been quite intrigued by the montecristo 4 i was offered couple of weeks back and decided to google on the local smoke scene.

 

apparently there isnt much to offer from the local scene (online) but i'm glad i found this.

 

i am a single malt fan and was offered a smoke during a single malt session. i also hear that cigar goes well with whisky (of course selected).

 

it was a sensational experience having the comforting warm/dense smoke aroma and obvious hints of vanilla yet subtle and along with the different whisky drams i had (one of them being so limited that it's prob the only bottle here in sg).

 

anyway this is my check-in and greetings to you guys out here.

and regarding the prices, where can i have the best prices (i'm really new to this).

 

i'm a nsf so it'll be tough on my pocket juggling both single malt and cigar and i'll start really slow.

 

deciding on the monte edmundo/petite edmundo (relative to monte 4) perhaps more vanilla and medium smoke? i'll prob have one without whisky this time to appreciate the orignal strength and characteristics it can exude.

Attention!!! Cigarettee price will increase with effect on this saturday 30th June!!! Premium brand like Mariboro, Salem, Kent will increase 40cents. Brands like Viceroy, L&M, or watever cheaper brand cigarettee will increase 20cents.

hi there korolev,nice to have u join us. seems like u're quite a whisky enthusiast eh? u're rite, most pple agree that cigars go pretty well with whisky, and cognac as well. personally, i prefer cognac. come to think of it, we hardly order whisky or cognac during our herfs.

 

as for prices, i guess conn d's prices are pretty decent. u can drop by some day to check them out.

Went to ConD today during lunch time with my colleague. He wanted to buy a humidor but they didnt have the one he wanted. They didnt have the one i want ed either. Need to pay first then they place order, waiting time 3 weeks. In the end, sian so didnt buy. Still have space for 2 full boxes of cigars so no motivation to buy unless really cheap.

 

Another thing, the lacquer/glue smell is still there.

p.s just had a Partagas shorts in my balcony. maybe have one during lunch tomorrow.....
