Was at Con Divan last night. Haven't gone there for so long that I forgot how expensive it was! And what's worse, they've stopped single stick cigar promotions. So I smoked my own cigar that I brought instead, a Nicaraguan puro. Must have been the travelling and the lack of "rest" time a gave it (it arrived yesterday wrapped in cellophane), the cigar was too dry and the tobacco taste was very very strong. Going to leave the rest for at least 1 week before "sampling" again.

My friend got the RyJ Prince of Wales. I'm not sure if its bad luck for me or if all RyJs are like that, but the burn of the cigar is very inconsistent, and keeps going out no matter how carefully I nurse it. The last RyJ I had (about a week ago), a Hermoso No.2 LE 2004 was also like that. RyJs tastes fabulous, but the burn is really irritating!

had a power Bolivar Belicoso Fino which I kept in my humidor for 6 months.

smoke was really leathery and thick. full bodied but without the spiciness and bitterness.  Intruder knows what I mean....right? better to smoke this with a full stomach and a nice long drink.

Yeah bro Throttle! Nice and classic smoke of this Belicoso Fino. Very nice but if to rush to finish it, it can be a torture. I mean, big gulp of 'tarik' and hasten yourself to finish it. Throttle, Thanks for the good recomendation! :thumb: :thumb:

At first light, it is nice and real aromatic to puff, slow and easy...... Then come the middle body or even before reaching that point...the POWER start to build up(nice thick, deep taste) WOW! Great puff!

Then comes towards the end....where i start to gets impatient and drag it like nobody business....choky and hard for me (my fault for getting impatient, not the cigar. It is a nice one.)

I took this puff in not so quiet place, alone....with my friend who dun puff cigar. So abit off-mood that day for a perfect cigar-ing.

Puffed a Phillies Blunt, a cheap brand from Shell kiosk... wanted to go to Oak for a Partagas but simply too lazy to drag myself down..... and worst dreamed of myself getting a Upmann.....then there came the cigar 'gian' sypmtom..... Boh bain...went to Shell and got the Blunt.. Surprisingly, for a 8 bucks cigar, it smells fruity even keeping it in pouch. Nice taste and smell while smoking it. Yes the tip of the cigar is abit dry, not well kept. But generally, it is still ok for a cheap puffs like this. Tonight maybe getting one more..... Now the cigar is gone, but the wrapper still ard, the light smell sometime still lingers..:thumb:

Hey Throttle,

You sound like a cigar shop already! Dun mind buying some Hermoso No. 2s provided you give me a good price. Or we can just trade cigars..

Any cigar gathering soon? Would like to meet up with all the cigar smokers at singaporebikes.com.

Just had myself a Cuaba Diademas. It's a HUGE cigar, figurado-shaped and 230mm long. Normally I would not smoke such a big cigar, but I've had this stick for about a year already, and decided that today is as good a day as any. Because of it's size, it's a very cool smoke. Not tightly packed, which resulted in it being an easy draw despite the small cut I made. Very mild woody taste at the beginning, developing into a medium-bodied smoke with leathery, woody, slightly bitter coffee/chocolate taste near the halfway mark. Entire smoking session took me 2.5 hours. Delicious! Not something I would recommend as a regular smoke due to its size, but something everyone should try for the experience, or perhaps for a special occasion.

Diademas, big one Bro!

hoho, I've avoided that becos that time required is really long and sometimes my palate and mind gets bored. Havent got any Diademas or salamones on hand right now.

Go to Oaks, they are having a sale on the RYJ Hermosos No. 2 EL2004. I think only $35 a stick, very cheap, but just be careful that the cigar condition is good.

I got quite a few 1997 aged Trinidad Fundadores last time and 1 had a bug hole....

me, cigar shop? I wish I had the luxury to run one.....bah...

Yup, I know about that sale, bought my plugged Hermoso No.2 at Oaks last week.

Skunk, cafes I know that sells cigars:

Ambrosia, Off Arab Street

Bars:

Wala Wala

Balaclava

Most 5* hotel bars like: Mezzanine @ Hyatt, Mandarin Hotel

But I recommend my favourite method, bring out a couple of sticks and light them at a coffee cafe! Any Starbucks, Coffee Bean, Coffee Club that is open-air. That's the life!

I dont mind smoking outdoors, as I often do in my balcony at home.

but when it gets too windy, the burn is affected and goes awry.

So I most often go a a nice lounge in a hotel or a wine bar which is not too crowded.

Numbergames, the picture is from the ConDivan Website that I posted earlier.

Nightstalker, how's the El REy Del Mundo Choix Supreme?

That is a 2003 batch of Rafael Gonzalez Petit Corona which I personally hand selected to mature in my humidor.

What you saw that day was whatever is left of that batch, all the rest has been smoked away..... The wrapper is dark and the taste is dark cream expresso.

A very underated cigar which is super value for money!!

Hey Nightstalker,

I was at Arab Street just now smoking cigars with a couple of friends. I find that some cigars go well with tea as well. As for coffee, I find that mocha goes well with cigars.

Your cousin's fren's place is Ambrosia? Cool... :thumb:
