Erm sorry, u call that weird?

What about walking around with missing teeth or a cracked jaw? now thats weird.

There was once i saw a video of a man who juz had an accident and his jaw split into 2. N he was still conscious. He could talk but his mouth opened up like an alien's. Totally gross.

Wish i could find the link to show u guys.

think most of us here get e picture le

:)

Heed the TS.

Had a personal experience once. . . I was lucky to be wearing FF and managed to walk away after the fall. The scratch marks on the FF was from the chinbar all the way up to the forehead portion. . . was staring at the tarmac about 1.5 inches from my face as I went sliding.

I didn't need more to convince myself to keep wearing FF. . .

thumbs up

He complain very noisy. So he only wears it while riding his scooter. I find removing and putting back the chin bar very leceh. Good thing is it takes up less space with the chinbar removed.

as my friend is a strict follower of ATGATT, she is fine with very minor injuries. :thumb:

however, one can imagine the kind of injuries she will kenna if she is wearing open face, short sleeve t-shirt, berms or 3/4 pants and slippers.

of cos, one might still die even if equipped with the best gear out there... like in the case of moto2 rider. the recently departed Shoya Tomizawa.

Very true to all the bros/sis replying here....but i think its all in the mind of the riders...cuz we complain to hot and so so...

If u ureself get into an accident, you ureself will bear the the brute of the accident...

I myself have all the items like FF/Long gloves/jacket/shoes and soo...but its singapore, sad but true...all in the mind.

Once you kena...like i said...all e best.

I got into a minor accident and was wearing my ff/jeans/jacket/shoes only no gloves...lucky as i was going into a bend from wdls ave2 toward bke...1 time in sg there was a lot of HEAVY RAIN and it made pot holes along the road.....my mistake was when i was riding on 1st lane there was a slow moving car infront so i went to the 2nd lane and when aproaching bend i was slowing down as well...i saw the hole to late then only thing in my mind was " SH*T " was riding sp that time...i kind flew foward and hit the left curb in a slow motion way and my bike went 360 uplift and landed on my left leg...lucky im big size...but most imp was i realise my chin hit the curb later on...only minor bruises to my body other then that...

So think about it....invest 1 time and you will nvr know...

Great to see a discussion on ATGATT.

Full gear can get a little hot (not when you're riding, but when you're sitting still), so my sympathy goes out to those who ride to work etc. It's a whole lot easier to obey ATGATT when you ride only for fun in the weekend.

Its amazing that while most people here will agree that a significant minority of Singapore drivers are hopeless, they still chose not to protect themself on the road. Denial does not form an invisible armour.

Sure, there are tons of reasons not to use a FF or jacket. Its ok, its a personal choice. Peace. :)

But i always wonder does the pillion who entrust his/ her life to you know that the half cap piss pot you take for a helmet probably wont save his/ her head or face, even in a minor spill.

I hate it when people come preaching about safety.

It's the same as selling insurance.

Everyone seems to have 1 when you try to sell the idea, until the sh*t happens, and they thought why they didnt buy 1 in the first place.

ei but seriously atgatt is very hard to do on a daily basis

i think minimum is fullface, gloves and boots, fullface so u dont smash ur chin, boots so that you dont twist your ankle, gloves so that you can still use your hand when you want to bathe

i wld rather wear pants than wear jacket as most of the time the upper body no prob only mild scratches but the knee and lower limbs abrasion until siao

normally i wear fullface and boot, i dont wear gloves cause i kept losing them and it was annoying

wld wear armour pants if i am wearing shorts underneath, partly to avoid burns from the engine

recently i skid and crash, was sailing along on the tarmac on the front of my chin and my knee

(the helmet is in my bike box so i cant get a photo)

the fullface took the whole impact, head was perfectly fine no concussion nothing

my knee kinda like pizza alr... but what to do its hard to wear the pants to work and such on a daily basis... imagine you always wear the pants and perspire everyday, then need to dry clean it all the time... expensive sia

(btw, for those who kena abrasion, duoderm is very good... a little bit expensive but heals the wound fast and very nice and clean with minimal scarring)

boring rider. with a boring bike.

too old to want to appear interesting anymore.

do agree with many here... wearing full face helmet and protective gear does make a difference in the severity of the injury during an accident. But having said that... i think the way we ride.. how aware are we of the surrounding traffic.. are also important and contribute to the safety of the rider. We all do not want have an accident in the first place.

More riders should share their crash experiences here and about the kind of helmets they were using at that time and the kind of injuries they got.

Hopefully it will encourage the others to wear full face helmets, regardless of what bike and what cc the bike is. Doing a face plant onto the tarmac has got nothing to do with the cc of the bike... if it happens it happens.

Share your experiences... you might save somebody's life.

Not everybody's life.. coz some bikers think they will never ever get into an accident and will never believe that it is better to wear a full face helmet until they split their chins or lose all their front teeth from impacting face first onto the road.

just got my FF, waiting for mine pillon's FF to arrive too. and i would say it feels alot safer wearing a FF knowing that if anything bad happens, my chin is covered.. always wearing a jeans and shoes to ride. thing about getting a good FF, you dont feel safe leaving it behind and thus have to carry around..

anyone know of any good hardcore chain to recommend to secure my FF on my bike?

Q: Wear so much gear, not hot MEH?

A: Try it for urself to find out! u'll be surprised. No need to heed those hearsay comments and no need to assume if u never try b4.. "THEY SAY very hot lei" - Who is the "THEY"? The aunty selling fishball noodles arh?

Mesh jackets + ff + gloves will ensure u are OUT OF THE SUN most of the time, assuming u at least wear long pants and covered shoes. i.e. no sun = not hot.

PS: Im quite a sweater myself, perhaps in basement carparks can feel the heat, but once on the road, no problemo!

haha.

i think really nid 2 c indivual.

sum ppl sae 'alemak ride sp,kr,wear wad ff sia'

1) Has anyone ever said THAT to you? Or u ASSUME ppl will say that to u?

2) If anyone say that to u, u can be very sure anything happen to you, the best they'll offer more "advice" - "Aiyah, ald tell u dun ride bike etc..." :faint: i.e. none of their biz wat happen to u. -touch wood- surely not.

3) go for short touring trips organised by SBF (moderators and veterans), u'll be surprised by how many of us wear most of the gears

4) most of my frens do provide positive comment on my gears, even drivers with no knowledge on biking unds. they actually make the biker look a lot more cool! u "dui diao" with taxi driver at fault they also suddenly very sincere and apologetic.

This is something I can never understand. If a rider can spend so much on a Ducati, why can't they spend money on a good FF helmet?

To me, open-face helmet is just there for riders to serve the law. It's not there to protect your head, chin, etc.

 coz no $ liaoz, their $ all spent on bike(s). no la seriously, it's their personal choice - Why do smokers smoke knowing the adverse effects? And i agree on ur later sentence as well..
