hi guys,

 

will like to ask a few questions about hornet 250

 

1)is it good for touring to places like malacca or KL travelling at ard 140-160km/h?

2)will the rpm be at the redline if i travel at that speed?

3)any known common issue like overheating or engine block crack?

1) No. no wind protection.. if pure stock.

2) 140-160kph, ur rpm will be at 12k-14k. dont worry. you have 2k more before hitting the redline. @16,000rpm... 180kph... the sound is sweet ^^

3) It's an old bike and a small cc engine.. do make sure the cooling system is top notch or other wise u will experience a bit of high temperature. (that's in my case that I experienced 1st hand)

im actually looking at a bike where it's an all-rounder, meaning to say good speed, good for touring, parts easily available and relatively low/easy to maintenance. s4 definetly suits all my criteria

1) It's is possible to install a windscreen. I would recommend either Givi or Puig. If you are getting puig, "Plus" model seems good.

2) Exhaust.. have.. SP Tadao.. cost $2,200/- aluminium. $2,400/- Carbon. It's a twin end can full exhaust system. gives the look of the hornet 900 from the rear. you may wanna enquire from unique motorsports.

3) IF you are seriously looking for an all-rounder with easily available parts, Super 4 spec 3 bol'dor is the one I would suggest to you.

 

Parts for the hornet may require some out-sourcing. Basic wear and tear can get from boon siew. tires are more expensive than class 2. I got my BT014 for $450/-(same size as CBR900.. unless u willing to spend 1k+ to convert to S4 front end). Front brake pads is the same as RVF. Engine timing is using gear so no chain to change.

erm.. the old head lamp has all these lines to divert the direction of the light.. the new one is all clear.. ^.^ IF u look at old Ver.S or Spec 1 and compare to Spec 3 onwards, u might just get what i mean.

anyone riding hornet 600 2007 onwards.want to check out on exhaust systems for that bike.any ways to de cat. the exhaust.seems quite complicated for that bike.

Hornet 600'07 a few only on the road.. most prefer the cb1000r.. to decat is possible but mite as well get aftermarket headers.. leo vince got full sys gp style.. but illegal ar.. it makes the bike way lighter..

Brief info for my H919:-

- color Black, registered Dec 2004 (3.5yrs to go before COE expires).

- only 1 previous owner who owned it for 6yrs before I took over just last Dec.

- mileage 82,000km. Last servicing done at 79,600km -> fully-syn EO, filter, iridium plugs, Engine Ice coolant, cam-chain tensioner & new Yuasa(original) battery.

- Things bought recently from M-Technik - New H&B top, side racks. New Junior top box with backrest & new center stand.

- equipped with Givi front windshield & scott-oiler.

- bike in good condition, ready to tour up north & no start-up problem during cold start.

 

Looking to sell at $9k o.n.o for the whole package. Loan arrangeable.

yup, aftermarket headers wld be the way to go but illegal

u wld lose the 'bomb' on the left hand side. arrow also has race headers but i have not gathered enough mullah and courage to try it heh.

anyone has a round headlite to spare?? need to borrow for inspection... or if anyone noes if the headlite is not orig can pass inspection?? using a fz1n headlite on a 919.. not sure if can pass inspection.. thanx
