Dear All,

I've recently bought an AD 200 and I'm loving it. However, the rain protection is not enough without deflectors. I asked MAH and they're talking about 400+ sing dollars just for the side deflectors, looking at the european prices I believe it is overpriced. Anyone had any custom deflectors done around here? I'd love to hear your experiences.

not sure if anyone encountered this, but i did.

the part where the deflectors join to windscreen(near handlebar), under heavy rain, water spurts in. stuffed 2 small washing sponge in that area, and it solved it.

Let me spin you a tale of two-wheeled love. Love at first sight. Love gained, and a quest for affirmation of that love.

I first saw a scooter with a roof on one of my forays about four years ago to the Lion City from Perth where I live. Having attended secondary school, pre-u, two and a half years of NS, and a few months in NUS, there is always and will always be a part of Singapore in me no matter where I go.

Hopefully, it's Hainanese chicken rice in my tummy that's the best part of me:)

At a non-descript traffic light in a taxi, I happened to glance to my left, and there I saw my first sight of a scooter/motorcycle with a roof. It struck me as futuristic, improbable, but oh so practical.

I think it has this effect on most if not all who see it for the first time. Crazy, but so right. And isn't that what we call 'Love'?

But it was a Love that had no name, for as fast as I saw it, time and traffic moves on, and the image was soon lost in the chaos of vehicles along the streets of Singapore.

Cut to mid-2008, and petrol prices were climbing, and the talk was that by the end of the year, it would reach AUD$2 a litre. Even if it did not reach that level of exorbitance, the writing was clear on the wall, peak oil meant that petrol was getting sparser, as the world continued to guzzle fossil fuel as if there was no tomorrow of empty oilfields.

Trolling through the scooter listings on ebay australia on a whim, I chanced upon a listing for a 2002 Benelli Adiva 150. It was the neo-futuro craft that had struck an indefinable and curious chord with me.

It now had a name. It was in Perth.

Was it for me? Time to see.

A capacious boot, a convertible roof, a glovebox for a stereo. It was definitely me.

Only 4k clicks to its history. Only AUD$3,800 to me as the winning and only bidder. Oh me, oh mine.

Riding in the pristine air of Perth on sunlit days when the wind is literally like air-conditioning, cool, dry and invigorating, Love is all you need.

Petrol never reached the prognosticated level. But global warming never ceased its climb. And with drought-like conditions in Perth for the recent years, it was a long hot Indian summer of Love for me, as waters from the heavens hardly fell to dampen the ardour of my carburettor:)

Even winter's chill could not fail to unseat me from my saddle, so fiery was my fondness for the ride.

And one loves to adorn ones Love to create new symphonies. Witness a Sony marine cd/radio from Sim Lim. The electricals took it all in her stride.

Nor even a trip to Mah Motors (!) to deal with their legendary inefficiency to order side mirrors and a wait of 4 months was not too much toil to bring her up to speed.

Then reality bites. Scratches from previous abuse and mine own follies needed to be amended.

An email message to Benelli in Italy ensued for their advice on the paint code. The answer from Ivan Pascucci of Benelli was "PPG HONDA D84P."

Yes, I could finally get some paint to cover deep wounds of her navy blue, faint sparkle vestment could finally be corrected.

But, searching the net for this cryptic colour, and local Honda car and motorcycle dealers turned up nothing. My own amateurish interpretation of Honda's codes are that P stands for Purple or Pearl. G for Green. There is no D. B is for Blue. There is no code in all of the internet nor Honda for a Honda colour with the numbers 84.

I wrote back as much to Mr Pascucci, I even attached a link to a youtube video which shows the colour:

No replyo from Italo.

So, having visited Benelli Cafe on these forums from time to time, and having found useful information, I turn to thee, my fellow Adivans, to entreat thee to assist me in affirming the colour of my Love.

I beseech Benellians to counsel me accordingly should they have an inkling as to the paint code of deep blue 2002 Adiva 150.

Er, (in Singlish), if got idea, PM me OK or post here. Can PM, personal message yah?

Hey DYXLESIC: i dont want to copy your whole letter but love your writing and have no knowledge where to obtain that info and i agree the original blue of that adiva is very striking. i have seen it a few tiimes and being a blue lover too i enjoy looking at it. i have a feeling you may not be able to get it. i dont think there is any agency in singapore here who can do it.

being in perth just recently, i must agree the ride must be incredible. but when i took the bus trip to the pinnacle, i dont think you want to use the adiva?? GOOD LUCK ON YOUR SEARCH. sorry to intrude
