Hey guys, I've read thru the forums and learnt a lot from you guys. Difference between Shadows and Dragstars, ACE and SE, Mods, EO, chopper terms, etc...Great to hear so much chatter or rather throttle about cruisers. Kudos. But I've noticed something, I don't see anyone comparing Dragstar classic and Dragstar custom. I know besides the size and the outlook, everything else is the same. Shaft driver, 400cc etc. But anyone rode both and felt a difference between the performance of both? I'm thinking the custom actually has better pick up and all cos it's lighter but I'm just thinking. Haven't got a chance to ride any. I've been window shopping a bit and I did find out that the classic sounds louder than the custom. But maybe it's just the particular engine. Anyone else care to share?

Ive ridden both and own both custom & classic.

I must say in terms of performance, the custom is better albeit mine is 10yrs old tho.

Handling also i dig the cUstom.

In terms of looking good, classic gets top mark.

The difference is the dry weight between 'em & the front tyre size.

Custom front tyre have a skinner look profile whereas the classic have broader tyre profile.

Hong Leong have stop importing new Custom model nowadays so that means

those existing ones in Spore are roughly 10yrs or coming soon.

Custom plates are FN (ard 1997) until i think, FR (somewhere beginning 1999)

The latest model frm HongLeong is Classic400.

BTW, I did a challenge against my brother CB400 before. It was when my Custom bike enjin was in top condition tho. It was after i had serviced the enjin with new NGK-R plugs, k&n air filter, new tyres plus changed the shaft oil too. No other accessories.

We kinda did a Drag test in straight line down an empty road. Wher? Secret la.

Anyway my Custom gave his CB400 quite a challenge in the lower gears but eventually the in-line4 leads the way........... :weep:

Well guys dun try this at home ok. Remember Dragstar runs on SHAFT.

With shaft comes the gears that makes it rotate. If u always drag, alamak! u'll regret brader.

Oh yes, thats the reason why i chose Dragstar ---> the maintenance free Shaft drive.

FYI - cruiser meet at Seletar Dam 23 Dec 2006. Read the thread.
