Help! Part of screw broke & is left stuck inside screw thread.

Hi.. anyone knows how to remove remnants of a screw?

 

My screw broke, and the screw head fell off, leaving part of the screw-body still stuck inside the screw thread. Any tools to remove or solutions to this?

drill into the centre of the screw using a drill bit smaller than then screw's minor diameter. use a screw extractor with the tap handle. don't bother trying to use a wrench on the screw extractor, it'll just give you more grief.

Yes. It will not overstress the screw/nut. But then it is also subjected to any fatigue on the screw/nut itself.

Try to replace screw that are rusty or oxidized is the best. Especially screws with contact to coolant. As for the tools that tachnicolour mentioned, it doesnt works when you DIY on a size 8" bolt. Get mechanic which has the proper tools and workshop to remove it.
