Hey yo dudes! I'm new to this forum and was attracted to all the threads about scramblers. its kinda helpful and it really expands me to scramblers. i believe every single people here who just got their license would love to ride on scramblers but the most common problem was money.

As for me, i really love scramblers but i got this lack of experience on which is which and what is what. haha. because my surrounding friends been riding cubs and rxz which is commonly seen. I do know they're much more saving but me myself didn't find the interest on it. They have been telling me about how Im gonna fork out alot of cash for scramblers machine/maitenance wise. But you cant judge book by its cover? So I took this opportunity to create a new thread to base on scramblers riders experience on which criteria of scrambler should i ride.

Well, Im currently a student and working part time. I would love to buy bike in full cash but some say you gotta pay installment for scramblers. I just got my license last 2 months and I have not been riding bikes because I don't know what should I get. haha. So why I'm telling you guys this, I need some help on which scrambler should i get. I have a budget of 2.5k including insurance. You guys maybe could recommend me some shops that i can pay cheap installment inclusive of insurance? and which scramblers is easy to maintain,f.c and ktm look alike. because for sure i could not own a ktm. just help me on my knowledge about scramblers. if you think my budget is a bit tight, you guys can help me on how much should i prepare.

Sorry for the long speech. HAHAHA. I'm new uh so understanding abit uh.

Xr 125 is the best for you bro... Cheap maintainance... Fuel consumption max 420km per full tank i read a posting a guy wrote at xr125 thread. Hey... Im a student... Im working part time... Ive change 3 bikes so far rxz, spark 135 and xr 125. For me xr 125 the best bro save money... Look good... Fuel tank 12 litres bro... Wooo hoo... I once pump full tank can last me 1 week 3 days... Exhaust also got... Remus n micron exhaust system Lta approved. Haha... Ur choice bro... If you want cheap get the older models... Xr 200, dr 200, wr 200... Its all up to the rider bro.

im same like you. student, working part time.. earning money to fund my 2b pracs.. hope i can get a scrambler and go dirt with the community here.. lucky u start this thread so i can learn too.. i was thinkign of Xr 125 / 200. anyone knows whats the diff other than cc? both 4 strokes.. good fc.. does it mean the 200 has more power than 125 cc? anyway rentless how much is a xr125 second hand? im damn interested..

A true friend never gets in your way unless you happen to be going down.

Xr 125 and xr 200 quite the same for me... I used both before... Fuel consumption good but dont expect much from a 4 stroke 200cc n below bike... Power wise~ pffft..! Bt at least it doest suck fuel damn fast like wr 200 or any other 2 stroke bikes... For wr surely much more power than xr... But there is always pros n cons... 2 stroke more power~more fuel used and need to use 2t oil. 4stroke lesser power~lesser fuel used... Insurance wise u have to ask bike shop but mine is 300.. Second hand xr 125 should be around 3000 to 4000 depends... Xr 200 cheaper but older bikes... Tyres want to change normal to off road just go bike shop or your friend who knows... For me bike shop definately... For long distance shouldnt be a problem. I travel from east to west side everyday and its the same as any bike... Ive learned my lesson, its not how fast u can go because singapore is small. You dont need the speed and its useless if there is a traffic jam. Like all the riders here would say "dont care what bike you ride or how slow the bike is as long as u reach your destination" and btw petrol so expensive now adays cannot tahan if bike use so much petrol...

im glad that this thread is going on alive and the scrambler pros are really helpful! its fun to see people like your ownself learning together! anyways, xr125 is the suggestion and read reviews on it. wish to try it, but is there second hand?

xr125 no more new bikes.. all 2nd hand... wr200.. check out the fc first.. since u are still a student.. i guess its gonna be quite taxing.. my guess for fc for wr200 should be less then 20km/l?? fc for my sp last time was around 23km/litre.. so im expecting wr200 to do worse than that... haha
